Horror fanatics, and let’s be honest, all film lovers, prepare yourselves – Sinners has arrived. Brought to you by revolutionary director Ryan Coogler, this supernatural musical odyssey takes us deep into the shadows of the Mississippi Delta of the early 1930s, where love, hate, music, religion, lust, bigots, mobsters, and the walking dead collide.
Twin brothers Smoke and Stack, played by Michael B. Jordan, return to their hometown after years away at war and working for the Chicago mob. Hoping for a fresh start, they purchase a saw mill with the plan of turning it into a juke joint for the local black community. But their dreams of success take an unexpected turn when evil forces come knocking.
Sinners flaunts a powerhouse ensemble cast, bringing its tale of blues and death to life with a cast every director would die for.
With Coogler in the driver’s seat and Ludwig Göransson composing the score, expect a musical experience that is not only terrifying but will also make you want to immediately stream the soundtrack. The haunting blues score and soundtrack of Sinners delivers as much as any of the visuals. With its frightening slide guitar riffs, tear-jerking harmonicas, and gospel hymns that we are confident reached heaven, the sounds of this film create an atmosphere thick with not only tension and fear, but love and optimism. Watch this one loud!
Sinners will hit theaters nationwide on April 18, 2025.
