STORY The original Hurricane Haunted House started in October of 2006. The Haunted House was just an idea that turned into reality. The old house on Esperanza Road was just sitting there with nothing in it. When the owners, along with friends and family decided to do something for the kids in the area, the Haunted House arose. In 2007 we added the Forest. This gave patrons a chance to go through one or the other or maybe both. As the crowds have grown, so have the scenes. 2013 is going to be one of the best years yet. Stuckey’s Bridge is in Lauderdale County, MS. It’s been listed as being built as early as 1847 and as late as 1901. So that would mean at the very least, it’s 108 years old! There are many stories that this bridge is haunted. As the story goes, Old Man Stuckey had a hotel near the bridge site in the mid 1800s. The old man would murder his hotel guests, steal their valuables, and bury the bodies along the riverbank. He was eventually found out, caught, and was hung from the bridge. Read more…
