The haunt came to life in 1994 when the Schmitt brothers, Bill and Ferd, had a brand new, greenhouse that was empty after the flower growing season in the spring. In 1938 the county added a hospital to the facility – the Genesee County Infirmary, and in 1964 it converted the property to the Genesee County Nursing Home, or as the locals lovingly referred to it as “the old county home” until closing in 1974.
