Wentzville’s number one home haunt.

Legend has it that everything at The Herton Cross Cemetery was once a nice and docile community in the middle of Virginia. It had a wonderful makeup of upstanding individuals, families, and professionals.  Picnics and festivals aplenty, the community would thrive with laughter and cheer.  That was until one fateful autumn season in 2020; when The Doctor came to town.

Some heralded them as a savior, some as a great visionary.  One to lead the community through trying and tough times and to carry the mantle of all that represented good.  But something was off and it would be too late before anyone could stop what was to come…

The haunt came to life in 1994 when the Schmitt brothers, Bill and Ferd, had a brand new, greenhouse that was empty after the flower growing season in the spring. They wanted to come up with some way to utilize the space in October, rather than letting their brand-new building go to waste. They decided that they would try haunting unaware of the passion that their first experiment would bring out in them.

They spent the entire late summer building their first haunted house in their dusty greenhouse. They hired a few actors and soon October came around. The first haunt was so successful they decided to do it again the following season.

After the success of yet another season and with a newfound passion to scare Bill and Ferd decided to build a large barn and take their haunt to the next level, where it is permanently.

For the past 28 years the Schmitts Farm Haunt has been a staple of the community and a must-attend attraction come October. Every year the Schmitt brothers push the envelope of what’s possible to create the best experience possible for their guests.

Frightmore Academy is a haunted house that includes 20+ different scenes, both indoors and out. It is not recommended for the faint of heart or those suffering from heart and/or breathing conditions. Visitors will be exposed to strobe lights, fog, and loud noises.

Full Back Story:

At the beginning of 2019, Mr. and Mrs. Frightmore bought this facility out of foreclosure in hopes of transforming it into a haven for troubled children, a cause that was dear to their hearts. Instead of your average educational facility, the Frightmores felt that they had a special talent for correcting bad behavior in children, and therefore decided to open an alternative school for juvenile delinquents, promising to improve academic performance and produce well-mannered individuals. Mr. and Mrs. Frightmore decided to offer the first year of schooling free of charge; however, they required that all students complete a mandatory 2-month on siteevaluation with no outside contact. After the applications were approved, the first-ever class at Frightmore Academy was formed.

Following the 2-month period, parents arrived to pickup their children for the weekend break; however, tragedy struck when the Frightmores reported that all of the children had mysteriously gone missing. Frightmore Academy was immediately ordered to cease all operations, pending a formal police investigation. Eight months after the tragedy, the Frightmoresopened their doors to anyone wishing to visit their facility, in an attempt to clear their good name.

*Fast Forward to 2021*
As a result of the deadly virus in 2020, the Frightmores suffered a devastating blow with attendance deemed unacceptable. Determined to ensure that this did not happen again, the Frightmores locked themselves away in the family library where they searched effortlessly for something that would guarantee their success for years to come.

The Frightmores have reportedly stumbled upon an ancient concoction, that when inhaled, cripples its victim and casts them into a horridslumber, one haunted by nightmares. Nearby residents have reported sounds of witchcraft and bloodcurdling screams coming from the property at night.

The Haunted Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee

The Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee is an infamous haunted site that has been the subject of numerous tales and legends. The legend of the Bell Witch dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and tells a tale of a supernatural being that haunted John Bell and his family. According to folklore, The Bell Witch’s spirit would speak and cast spells on the family. The Bell Witch harassed the family causing them great distress and even physical harm to John Bell’s youngest daughter, Betsy Bell.

The Bell Witch even vowed to kill John Bell in 1817. Eventually, John Bell would die on December 20th, 1820. The cause of death was actually attributed to the supernatural.

Paranormal Activity Around the Bell Witch Cave

The Bell Witch Cave is a limestone cave near where the Bell Farm once stood. Paranormal activity has been reported surrounding the cave including eerie noises, mysterious lights, and strange occurrences. The cave is located in Red River Gorge near Adams and is known for its unique geological features as well as its paranormal activity. It is a limestone formation with many winding passages that lead deep into the cave system. Many believe this was an ideal setting for paranormal activity.

The bell witch legend has grown over time with many visitors claiming to have experienced strange events while visiting the cave or nearby areas. While some skeptics reject these accounts as superstition or exaggeration, many still feel there’s some truth behind these stories. In recent years, paranormal investigators have conducted extensive research into the Bell Witch phenomenon.

The Bell Witch Cave is located in Adams, Tennessee at 430 Keysburg Road, Adams, TN 37010. It’s about 40 minutes from Nashville and tours are given during the Summer.

The Bell Witch Haunting has several movies based on the story: 2013’s Bell Witch Haunting, Bell Witch: The Movie in 2007, and An American Haunting in 2005 are each based on the story of the haunting and the cave.

Frankenstein Rocks musical Halloween show is a night to remember. On the spookiest nights of October, visitors are welcomed with a variety of Halloween-themed entertainment and activities sure to delight all who attend. The ghoulish theater provides a unique atmosphere to get into the spirit of Halloween and enjoy some bone-chilling thrills. The star of the night is Frankenstein himself. Frankenstein will be hosting the evening’s festivities with his signature ghoulish enthusiasm and horror-filled antics. The Goatman’s Bridge in Texas

The paranormal legend of the Goatman’s Bridge in Texas is one that has been passed down through generations. It is said to be haunted by an eerie entity known as the “Goatman,” a paranormal being with the head of a goat and the body of a human. According to local folklore, this creature roams around the bridge at night, terrorizing any who dare cross its path.

Where is the Goatman Bridge?

Constructed in 1884, the bridge’s real name is “The Old Alton Bridge” named after the abandoned city of Alton, which it served in the 1850s. It’s an aged iron bridge crossing over Hickory Creek between Denton and Copper Canyon, Texas that has since been replaced by the Old Alton Road. The Goatman’s bridge sits just East of Old Alton Road right outside Denton. The official address is Old Alton Bridge, Lantana, TX 76226. You can access the bridge from the Old Alton Bridge Trail that begins on the East Side of Hickory Creek. It’s a short walk from the trail. Is The Goatman’s Bridge Haunted?

The Goatman’s Bridge is said to be haunted by a half-man half-goat being and has been an infamous spot for paranormal activity for many years. It is said that the area surrounding it is filled with supernatural energy, making it easy for ghosts and other paranormal entities to manifest. People have reported hearing strange noises coming from under the bridge, feeling icy cold chills running up their spine when crossing it, and even seeing strange figures lurking around it at night. There have also been numerous reports of paranormal activity such as unusual lights and sounds coming from inside the forest next to the bridge.

The True Story of the Goatman’s Bridge Origin

The origin of this Goatman’s Bridge paranormal activity dates back to the early 20th century. It is said that a respected black goat farmer named Oscar Washburn, who was dubbed “The Goatman” by his fellow citizens, was hung over the side of the bridge by Klansmen in 1938. It’s said that they crossed the bridge and kidnapped Oscar and him back to the bridge. Yet when they threw him over the bridge to hang him, his body disappeared. This is supposedly the beginning of the Goatman’s Bridge.

Ever since, it is said that if you cross the bridge at night, you may see the Goatman on the other side.

This story quickly spread among locals and soon enough people began reporting similar sightings near or around the bridge itself and eventually gave rise to rumors of a haunted bridge guarded by an evil spirit they called “the Goatman.” As time went on more people began reporting paranormal experiences while crossing or even just walking nearby the Goatman’s Bridge leading many believers in paranormal phenomena to consider it one of Texas’ most haunted places.

Still today visitors come from all over just to experience what could be described as an otherworldly atmosphere near this mysterious landmark and there are always stories circulating about those who dare cross its path late at night…

Haunted Sauer Castle in Kansas City, Kansas

Sauer Castle haunted mansion in Kansas City, Kansas is a place of eeriness and mystery. Built in 1871, the Italianate-style castle has been witness to countless tales of paranormal activity, haunted spirits, and supernatural phenomena. Many visitors have reported ghostly sightings inside the mansion walls; from strange noises echoing through the halls to apparitions appearing out of nowhere. History of Paranormal Activity at the Sauer Castle

Sauer Castle has captivated visitors with paranormal phenomena for years. Located near the Missouri River, the castle was built by German immigrant Augustin Sauer in 1871 and was once an impressive three-story building with a large ballroom and spectacular views of the city from its rooftop.

Since then, it has been subject to paranormal activity such as strange lights and noises, paranormal sightings, and even reports of mysterious apparitions. It’s said that many have heard screams coming from the castle during the night, as well as eerie music playing without explanation. Some witnesses have reported seeing shadows moving in the dark of night or feeling an icy chill emanating from certain parts of the castle.

Even more paranormal encounters have been documented over the years, including sightings of mysterious figures walking through walls or faces appearing in windows – all without explanation or origin. Many believe these paranormal occurrences are connected to a tragic event that occurred at the castle during its heyday: two children, believed to be siblings, died while playing in a now-abandoned part of the castle.

Today, many paranormal investigators and ghost hunters flock to Sauer Castle to document their findings. In recent years, mediums have also visited the paranormal site, noting that there is an energy or “presence” inside the castle – one that cannot be explained by any natural phenomenon or human behavior.

The most common paranormal activity reported here is seeing ghostly figures roaming around late at night and hearing voices coming from empty rooms. Other phenomena include objects being moved mysteriously across rooms on their own accord, orbs flying around within view, and strange smells filling up different areas throughout the building.

Sauer Castle Today

The castle was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and placed in Kansas’s Historic Landmarks in 1987. The castle is in need of repair as of 2023. You can look through the fence and see this historic place. Some people still get in the building of their own accord, but that is ill-advised from both a legal and paranormal standpoint.
