Salem’s Lot Returns in 2024, And He’s A Biter

Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot has gained much attention over the years. As one of King’s most popular stories, it has been made into a movie several times. This new adaptation for MAX was directed by Gary Dauberman, who is best known for his Conjuring Universe film, Annabelle Comes Home. This is an exclusive for MAX subscribers and Halloween junkies are ready to see just how creepy it is.

The Original Salem’s Lot

King’s story, Salem’s Lot was published in 1975 and was adapted for television in 1979 and 2004, and that is when this new movie takes place. The press release reads:

“Haunted by an incident from his childhood, author Ben Mears returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot, Maine in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover the town is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire and his loyal servant.”

Mears begins to write about the Marsten House. This mansion seems to be cursed and Mears wants to find out more about it. The house has two occupants, Kurt Barlow and Richard Straker, a vampire and his “familiar”, who looks to be the cause of sudden disappearances, deaths, and other strange happenings all around the town. Ben decides to help defeat these two evil beings by teaming up with Mark Petrie.

Salem’s Lot Cast, and Trailer

The official premiere of Salem’s Lot is coming to MAX on October 3. The new trailer has been released and after viewing it, fans of King’s work are incredibly excited to see it. King himself even told his fans just how great the movie was and how he was ready for his diehard fans to see it. He tweeted:

“I’ve seen the new Salem’s Lot and it’s quite good. Old-school filmmaking: slow build, big payoff.”

The cast of Salem’s Lot includes Lewis Pullman, Mackenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Pilou Asbaek, and Debra Christofferson.
