Haunted Captain Faifield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine Overlooking the banks of the Green River in Kennebunkport is the Captain Fairfield Inn. Captain James Fairfield and his wife lived in the house for five years until James died of pneumonia. The mansion was a private home until 1991. When renovations started, an apparition identified as Captain Fairfield was seen floating in an area of the basement.
