Haunted Houses in Colorado

Maybe it's the elevation, but there are haunted attractions and supernatural sites all over Colorado. Near the top of the list is a chilling 11-mile section of highway between Thornton and Brighton that hosts a wide variety of supernatural phenomenon from wandering ghosts to demons to possessed animal spirits. And of course there is the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, where Stephen King stayed in 1973 to inspire his book "The Shining." And there were good reasons for that, which you can see for yourself on the ghost and paranormal tours the hotel still offers. Nearby, the Elkhorn Lodge is rumored to be one of the most haunted places in the entire state of Colorado with ghost sightings and strange occurrences being reported for more than a century.
