Haunted Marriott Courtyard Norwood Several guests have reported seeing the ghostly figure of a very tall man appear out of nowhere in their room at night. The ghostly figure looms over you at nearly 7 feet tall and is said to be the ghost of an athlete who hung himself in one of the hotel rooms on the first floor.  Noises and banging happen with no explanation. The Haunted Tutwiler Hotel Guests of the Tutwiler Hotel have reported someone knocking on their door. When they open the door, there’s no one there or in the hall outside the door. The sixth floor seems to have more reported encounters with the ghost that the staff has dubbed “The Knocker.” The hotel’s bartender has had his own spooky experiences. One night, he turned off all the lights only to find that something quickly turned them on after him. After five attempts to turn off the lights, he gave up and went home. Read more…

Opened in 1895 by Ephraim Wells, the inn was originally built to provide a place for oil barons and upper-class citizens to relax. The founder is said to haunt this historic location, and the most haunted room is 324. The story goes that a maid went to clean the room, and she found the door stuck and was unable to open it. Each time she pulled the door open, it sucked itself shut as if someone was on the other side shutting the door.
