The Lemp family who built the mansion experienced a lot of tragedy and drama in spite of their wealth. William Lemp shot himself in the house. William’s son was born with Down’s Syndrome and was hidden away in a secluded room. William’s wife Lillian was a wealthy socialite married for her money. The presence of Lillian, known as the Lavender Lady, is still felt in the mansion. When renovations started, unhappy entities made their presence known.
