Scary Acres opened its gates in 2002. However its history in Omaha goes way back to the year 1993 and began with the Train of Terror at Peony Park on Cass St. The Scary Acres Management team was commissioned to run a Halloween Attraction within the Peony Amusement Park. The Train of Terror circled the park amidst fog and spider webs. Monsters were hiding in the dark along the entire trail and in the tunnel ready to frighten unaware train passengers. The Olde Main Street Inn was headquarters when the tragic events at Wounded Knee were investigated. According to paranormal investigators, the hotel is the residence of at least two entities. The spirits have been given the names Jack and Anna. They were named after two members of the family who originally owned the hotel. During his life, Jack was fond of playing practical jokes on guests, and Anna was his sister. Anna appears to guests wearing a red dress as she wanders around the hotel. Read more…
