House of Horror Haunted Carnival(www.HouseOfHorrorCarnival.com) returns to the Miami International Mall from Thursday, September 26th to Thursday, October 31^st, offering South Florida’s largest Halloween haunt experience with even more thrills and chills this year. 

New this year, four brand-new haunted experiences taking over 100,000 square feet: Dark Origins: Birth of a Nightmare, Hallowed Hauntings, The Curse of Mine 49: Diablo’s Reach and Toxic Apocalypse, an immersive zombie paintball adventure. The event also introduces the Midway Mayhem Scare Zone and the introduction of Howard Oliver Hunt (H.O.H.), a tormented and deranged figure who, along with his followers, reigns over the carnival grounds invoking sheer terror and mayhem.

House of Horror Haunted Carnival also features the classics with unlimited carnival rides, delectable treats, carnival games and much more.

Mystery NH is a fun and exciting, immersive, real-life escape room experience, located in the heart of beautiful Mount Washington Valley.

With the clock running, you and your team must find clues, solve puzzles and open locks in order to escape the room. The only tool you will need is your brain.

The 2018 South Korean horror film, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum was directed by Jung Bum-shik. This movie was based on the real psychiatric hospital of the same name. The movie follows a horror website crew that wanted to investigate the asylum after it was abandoned. They had heard tales of the hauntings here and they wanted to gain fame and clout by doing some investigating themselves. What they didn’t realize was just how horrific their encounters here would be. Let’s find out more about the movie and the real Gonjiam haunted asylum.

The Gonjiam Movie (Spoilers)

During the Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum film, two boys decide to go explore the Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital. They had heard rumors that hundreds of people were killed here and patients had gone missing. The director of the hospital was rumored to have been killed here as well. The two of them knew that the most paranormal activity was coming from Room 402, which was the intensive care unit. As they filmed their mission, they caught a look of a very ghostly face. Shortly after, they disappeared. This is what made Ha-Joon, a YouTuber, want to go into the building and try to find out what happened to them.

Ha-Joon decides to get a crew of people together who also want to know more about the asylum. Ha-Joon’s YouTube channel is called “Horror Times” and he just knows that going to the asylum will boost viewers and soon he will become famous. However, what he has in mind isn’t exactly what he gets.

Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum Film

After getting his crew together, Ha-Joon is ready to begin his live broadcast at the asylum. He decides that he will stay at base camp while the others go inside and broadcast everything that they see inside the psychiatric hospital. Shortly after they go inside, it comes out that there is a script for what they will do and say when they enter the asylum. They have put together some ghost-hunting antics that they feel their fans will really love.

Even though there is a script to their live broadcast, it seems as if the spirits in the asylum have something planned of their own. The group finds strange coffins in the building and when one of the women puts her hand in a hole, she pulls it out and finds that she has been wounded horribly. This disturbs a few others in the group and they decide that this is not what they had in mind. They feel that it is time to leave.

During the film, each member sees paranormal and unexplainable events. They are attacked by these strange forces and eventually, the infra-red cameras pick up a dark presence in Room 402. As Ha-Joon is watching his team go underwater in the room, with no escape, he sees that the YouTube channel has gotten almost a million views. He goes to check this out and he ends up getting strangled to death by the ghost of the director of the asylum.

One last member of the crew is left, Seung-Wook and he eventually admits that the entire investigation was supposed to be scripted. The live stream cuts off shortly after he admits to this and as the movie ends, the dish of holy water begins to boil.

Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum Trailer

The Real Haunted Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital

When this film was released, there was a lot of talk that the asylum never existed and that it was just an urban legend. However, others shared their own stories of being in the asylum. The Gonjiam asylum was built near Seoul, Korea in 1961. It had three floors where it served hundreds of patients. In 1996, the owner and director of the asylum died and the asylum closed. The building was never passed on to anyone else and there was no interest in reopening it. The building began to fall apart and it was finally demolished in 2018.

The legends of Gonjiam asylum have spread all over Korea and the world. Much like other asylums, spooky tales have come out about just how horrible this place was after it closed. Asylums are known for the cruel ways that they treated patients and this is why most of them closed down. In this asylum, the legends are that hundreds of patients died with no explanation. The cruel ways that the doctors treated the patients here were just part of how they lost their lives.

Not only were there plenty of unexplained deaths in the asylum but there were also suicides added to the list. Many employees took their own lives due to the paranormal encounters that happened to them in the asylum. The paranormal activity in the asylum has been reported by paranormal investigators. There have been a lot of rumors about the ghosts that haunt the asylum. There have been paranormal investigators who made claims that after their time in the abandoned asylum, they felt that it was one of the most terrifying locations that they had ever been in. This creepy asylum may have been the end of many lives, but the legends of how haunted it is continue to spread.

The madness of the asylum is rumored to be one of the main reasons that those who worked here wanted to get out. There were rumors that they were haunted by the ghosts of the patients who died there. Now that the asylum has been torn down, the legends will continue to spread, but no one will ever know what happened there. The movie about the asylum was one way to get the rumors swirling yet again.

Most asylums around the world all have a few things in common. There are always stories about just how horrible the conditions were in them and how people were tortured there. The tales and legends of the Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital seem to be all that there is left for us now.

n 1978, the ladies of the Sorosis Club came up with a fundraising idea that has grown into our Annual Haunted House. It was an instant hit with the residents of our community. They eagerly return year after year, and it’s heartwarming to see many who once visited as children now sharing the experience with their grandchildren. Blackwood Castle will open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from October 17th through Oct 26th.

One of the most famous department stores in Piccadilly is Fortnum and Mason. Tourists flock from all over the world to check out this location and see if any of the ghostly tales are true. Ghosts have been seen in the building since the 1700s. The store’s ghosts like to linger around, and some customers have been terrified of them, while others feel that they are just part of the ambiance.

Fortnum and Mason’s History

Why is Fortnum and Mason so popular now? This department store dates back to 1707 when William Fortnum and Hugh Mason established it. It has become one of the most popular stores in London, England, located at 181 Piccadilly. The store is now privately owned and has gained quite a reputation for being one of the best stores with the finest quality products. Today, there are several departments where shoppers can find items of their choice.

William Fortnum had quite a big start to his career. He once was a footman in Queen Anne’s household and decided that he could make a good living if he started a grocery store. This was when he spoke with Hugh Mason, his landlord, and they began their journey to build a grocery business. Soon, their store began to carry specialty items and luxury meals.

Since it first opened, the store has undergone many changes and renovations. Its history is vast, and it has received many awards. Even though the store has gained awards and accolades, customers have seen many strange happenings in the building while they are shopping. Let’s find out what lurks in the halls of the store.

Is Fortnum and Mason Haunted?

Known as one of the world’s most haunted businesses, Fortnum and Mason customers and staff members have seen some strange paranormal events here. The store itself promotes to customers that a few ghosts are lurking in the picnic hampers.

The Stove-Hatted Gent

The most well-known ghost is the Stove-Hatted Gent. It is said that he was involved in a murder in the nearby area in the 18th century. This man is a Victorian ghost who is said to wear a black top hat and walks around the store freely. Customers and staff members have seen him in the store, and he is generally seen on the sixth floor. According to paranormal researchers,

“He appears on the Jermyn Street side of the business, dressed like an Isambard Kingdom Brunel.”

Most believe that he was a stonemason named William Francis. A few security guards claimed that seeing this ghost was why they quit working at Fortnum and Mason. It seems that his energy is resentful and violent.

One of the store managers reported that late at night, they don’t like to be there alone. They have heard doors shutting very loudly. The floorboards creak at night, and the lights turn on and off at times. The stories of the ghosts continue, however.

The Lady in Grey

The Lady in Grey is another ghost seen in the Fortnum and Mason building. She is seen on the 4th floor and on the Duke Street side. She is said to be the ghost of Anne Fortnum, who died in the apartment in the shop in 1847. According to paranormal experts,

“She was a spinster sister of Richard Fortnum. She never married and suffered from acute bronchitis most of her adult life.”

It is speculated that she wishes to leave the apartment, but she still lingers around, trying to get out and go to her family.

2nd and 3rd Floors

Fortnum and Mason’s second and third floors have had a lot of paranormal activity. The third floor is where a young man fell to his death when the store was being rebuilt in 1929. He allegedly haunts the stock room and has scared off a lot of the staff here. The second floor is known for the poltergeist that inhabits the area. According to paranormal experts,

“It moves heavy objects around and is always moving the soaps overnight. Have on CCTV the shape of a figure (male) at 3 am. On one occasion, he threw a large and extremely heavy large crystal globe across the floor. This pest has been doing his nighttime moving since the 1950s. New staff don’t believe the old-timers when they first start working on the floor, but after a few weeks of having to put everything in its right place in the morning, they are convinced.”

Ground Floor Pushing Ghost

The ground floor also has a pesky ghost lingering about. This one is called the Pushing Ghost. There have been reports that customers and staff members are constantly being pushed toward what is known as the Crypt. This ghost doesn’t like the cleaning staff and is constantly pushing them. Many staff members are very wary of this ghost and do not want to be alone on the ground floor late at night.

There are many tales of ghosts and hauntings at Fortnum and Mason. These ghosts have been hanging out here for decades, and it seems as if they are pretty settled in.

Coinsbrough Castle is located in South Yorkshire, England. Like others built during the same time period, its history is vast. It was built in 1180 and is known as one of the most haunted castles in the world. Let’s find out more about the history and haunts of Coinsbrough Castle.

Is Conisbrough Castle Haunted?

This castle is one of the few that survived the English Civil War. Although it wasn’t a huge part of the war, sieges occurred there. The castle’s history is just one of the ways that visitors are drawn in. However, the tales of the ghosts here are yet another reason that people flock to it.

Tales of ghosts walking these halls have existed for centuries. One of the ghosts seen the most here is the ghost of a gray monk. He likes to wander along the curtain walls of the castle. Visitors feel as if he looks tired or sad, but they have never felt any ill will from him.

Another popular ghost seen in the castle is the White Lady. The White Lady has been seen at the top of the castle and there are stories that she was pushed off of the castle and fell to her death. Visitors to the castle admit that they have actually heard the sounds of a woman screaming for her life. They claim that it only happens a few times a year.  The tales of this ghost vary depending on who tells it, but paranormal experts and ghost hunters have seen her quite a few times.

Not only do some ghosts frequently show up, but footsteps can be heard all around the castle. Visitors have also seen strange lights in the chapel area. The chapel is generally locked up, so these lights keep appearing oddly.

Ghost Hunting at Conisbrough Castle in South Yorkshire

One of the most interesting things about Coinsbrough Castle is how many visitors want to go ghost hunting there. The tour guides who work here are very knowledgeable about the haunts. When guests sign up for a ghost hunt, they will participate in experiments, seances, and vigils to find ghosts and make a very special connection to them.

Plenty of guests doubted the ghostly activity here, but with these ghost tours, there are ways to see that they really do exist here. There is plenty of time to sign up and discover just how spooky Coinsbrough Castle can be. You never know who or what you will see here, but one thing is certain. The history will show itself to you as you walk through these halls.
