Aura Haunted House is located in the old Peoria State Hospital historic district, at 4500 Enterprise Drive, Bartonville Illinois, in the Historic Pollak Tuberculosis Hospital Building. The Pollak Hospital was added to the state hospital campus in 1949, although tuberculosis deaths on the grounds dated back to the earliest days of the asylum. By 1906, it was the leading cause of death at the Peoria State Hospital. Built in 1949 the Pollak Hospital Building was built to care for patients with tuberculosis. Founded in October 1970. We are an all volunteer Haunted House that is the longest consecutively running HH in the country. Community Commonwealth is a non-profit organization that believes that service to humanity is the best work of life. Formerly the Lombard Jaycees Haunted House, we are said to be the longest consecutively Haunted House in the country. We started back in 1970 & our primary purpose to give the kids something constructive to do so they wouldn’t be out creating mischief during Halloween time. That is still our mission today.
