Massachusetts is the most populous state in all of New England, and it’s also the most haunted as well. Partially situated on the Atlantic Ocean, the Bay State has one of the most chronicled and lengthy histories of any state in the Union.
The most famous is the area of Plymouth that was founded in 1620 by the Pilgrims, who had discovered Native Americans in the nearby lands. The area of Plymouth has the John Carver Inn. This particular inn doubled as a medical school in the Revolution-era, but was shut down once it was discovered that grave robbers plundered the cemeteries and took the bodies back to the inn. Is Salem’s Hawthorne Hotel haunted? The Hawthorne Hotel is ranked as one of the most haunted hotels in America. Guests have frequently reported moving furniture, sightings of a ghostly woman, unexplained noises and crying and more. The show Bewitched even filmed an episode in one of the elevators during the 70s and in 1990 the hotel held a seance in the Grand Ballroom to try and contact Harry Houdini. The Salem Haunted Magic Show began in 2011 with it’s debut performances at the Hawthorne Hotel. At that time we only presented about 17 shows across the whole month of October. Now 7 years later, we do a minimum of 48 performances and open our show in September, ending in November. We’ve always been a small operation, mostly family and close friends work with us to make each years production something different and special. Every year we design a completely new show!
