Wolfeboro’s Haunted Tuc Me Inn Once the longest running bed and breakfast in Wolfeboro, the Tuc Me Inn B & B has a history of reported hauntings. The piano has been known to begin playing by itself. Ghostly footsteps are heard through pacing the hallways. Doors close shut by themselves. The 7-guest room, Federal style colonial inn was erected in 1850 by Reverend Asa Piper. In 2012, the haunted Tuc Me Inn and has yet to reopen. It’s highly possible that the piano is still playing but without the audience, it once had over those 160+ years of operation. Read more…

In Whitehill, New Hampshire, ghost hunters have heard tales of the Spalding Inn. This inn has always been one of the places that thrill seekers would run to to get the pants scared off of them. It was owned by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson from the television show Ghost Hunters. This inn was formerly known as the Cherry Hill House and was built in the 1860s. Joseph Stickney built the Mount Washington Hotel in 1902 to cater to the rich and famous. Stickney’s wife Carolyn would watch from the balcony as guests entered for dinner. She wanted to outshine the wealthy women and would make her entrance into the dining room after her guests had arrived. Joseph and Carolyn’s idyllic marriage wouldn’t last. The Story of the Haunted Ocean Born Mary House Mary was born on an Irish immigrant ship heading to America on July 28, 1720. Shortly after her birth, the ship was taken by pirates for its booty. But when pirate Don Pedro saw the new-ocean-born baby, he made a deal with her parents. If they agreed to name her Mary, in honor of his mother, he would spare everyone’s lives.
