The original name of the Rough Riders Hotel was The Metropolitan. People expected the town to grow into a large city, which never happened. The hotel was renamed in honor of Theodore Roosevelt and the Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War. Through the years the hotel has been owned by different people and undergone renovations, which usually awakens the spirits. The Olde Main Street Inn was headquarters when the tragic events at Wounded Knee were investigated. According to paranormal investigators, the hotel is the residence of at least two entities. The spirits have been given the names Jack and Anna. They were named after two members of the family who originally owned the hotel.
