Haunted Marriott Courtyard Norwood Several guests have reported seeing the ghostly figure of a very tall man appear out of nowhere in their room at night. The ghostly figure looms over you at nearly 7 feet tall and is said to be the ghost of an athlete who hung himself in one of the hotel rooms on the first floor. Is Salem’s Hawthorne Hotel haunted? The Hawthorne Hotel is ranked as one of the most haunted hotels in America. Guests have frequently reported moving furniture, sightings of a ghostly woman, unexplained noises and crying and more. The show Bewitched even filmed an episode in one of the elevators during the 70s and in 1990 the hotel held a seance in the Grand Ballroom to try and contact Harry Houdini. One of Boston’s most haunted locations is the Parker House. If you want to encounter the spooky residents, reserve a room on the third floor. A 19th-century actress, Charlotte Cushman, famous for playing male and female roles including Hamlet and Lady Macbeth, died in one of the third-floor rooms in 1876. Elevators travel to the third floor when no buttons are pushed. Charlotte may be the culprit. Room 303 had to be closed and renovated for use as a closet after complaints from guests about loud laughter and the odor of whiskey. Read more…
