• Formerly the Lombard Jaycees Haunted House, we are said to be the longest consecutively Haunted House in the country. We started back in 1970 & our primary purpose to give the kids something constructive to do so they wouldn’t be out creating mischief during Halloween time. That is still our mission today. Our House isn’t like most of the rest. We don’t do this to make money but for the love of it & to help out the community. We are all volunteers & get to be part of every part of the process from room ideas, building, makeup, costumes, skits, you name it.

Boo Crew Haunted House is no amateur operation – we’re serious about scary! Our creepy crew works on our haunted haven all year, putting our sinister minds to work as we create a high-tech, theatrical environment that evolkes blood-curdling screams and spine-tingling terror.

We were awarded with the TOP TEN HAUNTED HOUSE in Illinois!

Owned and operated by the Rochester Lions Club, our haunted house has raised a zombie hoard-load of money for the community since we first opened our doors in 2000. As an added benefit, it provides the perfect venue for community members of all ages – from junior high students to senior citizens – to come together and work toward a common goal. Each night, more than 75 volunteers work at the haunted house. It warms a zombie’s heart to know we have so many demented – yet generous and caring – people in our community!

During the renovation of a historic building in downtown Rock Island, several people have reported hearing footsteps and seeing ghostly apparitions lurking in the halls, doors slamming and strange voices throughout the building.

The previous owners have also confirmed that they had reports of similar experiences.

Paranormal investigators have determined restless spirits from the past dwell within the walls of Skellington Manor.

Legend of Raven’s Curse
There is a place near the outskirts of Centralia, IL that locals claim is haunted. Many years ago a wealthy land owner, Alexander Hemsworth, and his family lived on the property. Tragedy struck in 1935 when Hemsworth’s only daughter, a black haired beauty named Anabelle, was diagnosed with a severe mental illness. Rather than send her off to a state run asylum, Alexander instead had a state of the art asylum built behind the family home so he could monitor Anabelle’s care personally.

As years passed and Anabelle’s condition only worsened, Alexander began to conduct cruel and barabric experiments on the other patients in a desperate attempt to cure his daughter. One evening, Anabelle heard far off screams, followed the sounds, and discovered the truth behind her father’s “research”. In a fit of rage and disgust, Anabelle led the other patients in a riot. A fire broke out and quickly spread through the asylum trapping everyone inside. There were no survivors. When police went to question the family, they found everyone dead. Reports described the deaths as “heart attacks”. Many towns people believe that the spirits of the tortured patients came to the family after the fire and, quite literally, scared them to death.

Today, Hemsworth Estate and the Anabelle Hemsworth Asylum sit vacant. Many claim that the property is still haunted by the ghosts of the asylum patients and the Hemsworth family. Some say they have even seen the black haired Anabelle, commonly referred to as the Raven, wandering the grounds at night. Will you make it through the old family home and the decrepit asylum…or will Anabelle make sure you never leave? Can you survive the Raven’s Curse?

A Tale of Halloween

How does one become obsessed enough with Halloween to dedicate months of time, hundreds of dollars and the better part of their home to the transformation? It all started with our family and friends. We love Halloween. They love Halloween. We’ve always wanted to create an elaborate yard display … so have they. And faster than you can say “trick or treat” the plan is hatched. Next thing you know, they’re spending every available minute at your house, transforming the garage, driveway, front yard and house into a realistic graveyard. From this initial haunt, the 1031 Club was born.

When we purchased the house we live in today. From the moment we laid eyes on the yard, we knew its destiny was that of the ultimate Halloween cemetery. It took several years to bring the dead and dying to life, but the dream has become a reality. For over 10 years, we have created a creepy crawly yard haunt that has attracted people from all over the Portland area.

It has become a spectacle of spectres that we are all quite proud of. But none of this would have happened had it not been for our good friends and family members who started us down this path, as well as the inspiration from fellow yard haunters throughout the country. From our family of freaks, fiends and the gratefully undead to yours, happy haunting.
