Haunted Hotels in San Francisco, California

Built in 1906, this quaint little hotel was once named the New California Hotel. It was built right after a fire destroyed most of San Fransisco. At one time, it was said to have been a brothel. One of the ghosts seen and heard in the San Remo is said to be the Madame who once ran the hotel. In 1922, the hotel was renamed San Remo, and the guests were more upscale. Is the Nob Hill Hotel haunted? Built in 1907, the Nob Hill Inn is a popular hotel and reportedly one of the most haunted places in the city. Sitting right on the corner of two popular streets, the hotel has a classic look for the outside and plenty of antiques and older items on display inside. Though some think the haunted activity relates to those furnishings and decorations, others believe the hotel might house some spirits who lost their lives during the earthquake that struck the area prior to the hotel’s opening. However, the ghost behind this haunted hotel is reportedly hospitable. The entity reportedly wanders about the hotel keeping an “eye” on her guests, looking out for their welfare.
