We are located in Red Rock Canyon, where travelers in the 1800’s trecked the Spanish Trail towards the west coast. This was no easy journey, many of these people died from the desert’s unforgiving climate. Now, those lost along the way still roam the ranch! These spirits still have something to say and ” reach out ” when you least expect it. In the sweltering summer heat of 1973, a group of local Austin, Texas filmmakers scraped together a mere $80,000 to produce one of the most terrifying films in American cinema history, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Enduring the brutal late July heat that would regularly have the temperatures at 110 degrees during filming, the crew made up entirely of university film students and local actors ended up creating a film that has terrified generations of moviegoers.
Texas-born film critic and horror historian Joe Bob Briggs claims it is the greatest film (not just horror) ever made, which is precisely why checking out the “Gas Station” is a must on any Texas Chainsaw or horror fan’s list.
For those who have viewed this cult classic film, know that the Gas Station is one of the earliest stops in the film. A group of young people came from visiting a local cemetery to check on loved ones remains after news reports of vicious grave robberies surface. After picking up and tossing out a psychopathic hitchhiker, the van-load of teens stumbles upon a dusty and nearly abandoned gas station. Unbeknownst to the teens, it’s actually a front that’s operated by Leatherface’s family of deranged, cannibalistic savages. To be fair, the gas station plays more than one pivotal part in the film. The Blue Earth County Fairgrounds becomes home to Northern Frights, Minnesota’s Haunted Grounds, during the month of October. With Minnesota themes scattered through out the Haunt, Mankato’s Haunted House is just a short drive down Hwy 169 under the Oaks in Garden City. We are excited to not only bring a Haunted House to Mankato, but a three part attraction that includes: “The Lair”, a 5,000 sq foot indoor Haunt; a 1/2 mile Zombie Walk on a trail by the river; and our Terror Tunnels. Minnesota is rich is folk lore and has many traditions, some of which only like to come out in the dark. Northern Frights is a place where they all gather in October to come out and play. It is the time of the “Fall Gathering” and those who dare can come join them at the secluded grounds by the river.
What has Paul Bunyan done with Babe…? Sasquatch has made it to the Gathering, but we seem to be missing some people. The Northern Lights are out, but so is someone else. The legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald lives, but those who died have “gathered”.
ZOMBIE WALK
Take a walk along the trail in the post apocalyptic world of the un-dead. Be quick and follow the signs towards Terminus. “Sanctuary for ALL. Community for ALL. Those who Arrive Survive”. As you make your way towards Terminus keep those you care about close to you…you are not the only ones on the trail to Terminus. There were many on the path that have “turned” and now join the Zombie army.

Be A Ghost Buster for the night! The Ghost Hunting Experience is an actual paranormal investigation that allows guests to be part of a real ghost investigation in a real haunted location. Guests will use real ghost hunting equipment to try to find evidence of the supernatural and take part in fun experiments like an old-fashioned seance and a solitary experience. This Halloween we are investigating the very haunted Venice Beach Bar. Rumored to be the former home of Jim Morrison, the Venice Beach Bar is now inhabited by a number of spooky residents, possibly even Jim Morrison himself. Current staff have reported numerous paranormal occurrences that include objects moving on their own and a picture that changes its expression while being observed.
During the experience, guests will hear true tales of the history and haunting of the Venice Beach Bar, take part in an old-fashioned seance and participate in an authentic ghost investigation. Psychic/Medium and Paranormal TV Personality, Erika Frost, will be joining the event and the Southland Ghostbusters will be around beforehand for a meet and greet.

Established in 1976, Freakling Bros., creators of Las Vegas’ premiere haunted attractions, unveiled the cities first free-standing haunted attractions in 1992 at the corner of Sahara and Decatur Boulevard.
Three years later the company pioneered the development of the industry’s first six trailer, completely self-contained mobile attraction, paving the way for a new concept in “haunted houses” that would sweep the country.

Then in 2013, with the unveiling of The Victim Experience, an all new level of intensity was achieved: “The only must-see Haunt in Nevada!”. “Third most Extreme Haunt in America!”. “Our staff considers Freakling Bros. one of the top Haunted Attractions in the world!”. We have reestablished ourselves, once again, as the trend setter in the haunt industry.

Once a year a local farm in Laurel Delaware transforms into what some call a brutally morbid nightmare the likes of which has not been seen or recorded in history. Rumor has it that TJ Scott bought the farm after a long stay at a local mental hospital. The farm is located just off route 13 in Laurel Delaware close enough to lore passing visitors of the busy highway and on to the farm property. What happens to those visitors after coming onto the farm has never been discovered. Abandoned cars have been found throughout Sussex County, However their owners seem to vanish. Blood curdling scream, gun shots and loud music comes from the farm at times however the police refuse to investigate. Large boxes have been found at the local post office marked for overseas shipping labeled as animal skins, however just recently one of those boxes was inspected and what appears to be human skin was found inside it. Unfortunately there was no return address on any of the suspected boxes. The farm is still in operation today! During the month of October the terror overflows!

From time to time a corn field is planted at Slaughter House Farm. Locals say it’s just another corn field in Sussex County Delaware, however the local authorities believe it’s much more than that. Loud noises, screams and occasional gun shots have been heard coming from the field. No complaints have been registered with the local police, so know investigations have been opened. Neighbors seem scared to make any complaints about the entire farm. A young boy who had wondered into the corn field one night says he was chased by what he describes as living scarecrows. An old man was heard saying “the strangers go in but they don’t come out”. The local children in the area call the corn field “STALKERS FIELD”. Now the question is, will you be the next stranger to walk into STALKERS FIELD?
