Fort East Martello Museum. Home to Robert the Haunted Doll. The Fort East Martello Museum is home to the Robert the Doll aka, Robert the Haunted Doll. People come from all over the world to see famed artist Gene Otto’s even more famous counterpart, Robert the Doll. Gene kept Robert the Doll with him until his passing in 1974. Robert is said to have been cursed by a Bahamian servant who made the doll out of wire, hay, old clothes and some of Gene Otto’s own hair. Read more…

Cemeteries and graveyards are places where the dead are buried and the living go to mourn and remember them. It can be a common thought to those who enter past those cemetery gates, that there are perhaps spirits there. Waiting and watching, but nonetheless, they are trapped or wandering the grounds in a supernatural purgatory. Travel and Leisure named the Coombs House Inn one of the best bed and breakfast hotels in the country, but the magazine didn’t make mention of its haunted past. Built as a private home for James M. Coombs, the wealthy local man and his family moved into the house in 1905. Maria, his wife, loved the house but was heartbroken when a fire destroyed much of the property. The woman sadly passed away before ever getting to go back home again. Both staff and guests firmly believe that both Maria and James haunt their former home. Read more…
