Is the The Heathman Hotel haunted? Some reports of hauntings from hotels are of a fairly benign nature with guests reporting strange noises or apparitions spotted in hallways, but the spirit or spirits in Portland, Oregon’s Heathman Hotel, one of the most haunted hotels in the United States, seem to take a somewhat more sinister approach to alerting people to their presence. Is the Yankee Pedlar Inn haunted? The Yankee Pedlar was built in 1891 in downtown Torrington, Connecticut. The original owner of the inn, Alice, is rumored to have died in the Yankee Pedlar in 1910, which may have marked the day that paranormal activity began. She’s said to have died in room 353, which has various reports of apparitions as well as strange smells. The Pedlar’s success is said to have come from Alice’s astute management of the hotel as well as her outstanding cooking. When a little boy appeared at the side of a former Benson Hotel guest’s bed, her first instinct as a mother to a three-year-old son “was to reach out to the boy and pull him into bed.” The results were terrifying. “As I touched his arm it actually felt solid for a moment…He jumped in my face making a scary face and frightened me…I hid under the cover for a second thinking he’s playing around being silly. During a visit with his team at The Pfister Hotel, Washington Nationals outfielder, Bryce Harper, found himself terrified. He was staying by himself in one of the regal establishment’s many rooms when an inexplicable encounter with paranormal activity signaled that he was no longer alone. “One time last summer, before I went to sleep, I laid a pair of jeans and a shirt on that table at the foot of the bed, those things in hotels that you sit on to put on your shoes. The former owner of the Talcott House Bed and Breakfast is said to have died in a fire. The wealthy owner is said to have haunted the location since. It’s thought that he started two fires at the Talcott house too. One of them happened during renovations. He plays the piano and listens to music from the 1920s. The Haunted American Club Hotel Don’t let the glamorous exterior of The American Club Hotel fool you. It may be a member of The Historic Hotels of America but it’s also a member of The Most Haunted Hotels in Wisconsin. The grand establishment was built in 1918 to house immigrant laborers who came to the states to work for the Kohler Company. As the workers started buying houses and building families within the community, the estate began to fall into despair from lack of care and use. While there aren’t many spirits at the Saybrook Inn, there’s one that frequents some of the events at the wedding venue located on the grounds of the inn. Guests of various weddings have captured the apparition of a phantom bride in their photographs after the event. There are no reports on the identity of the bride.
