The ghosts at the Prospect Hill Bed and Breakfast aren’t anything to be afraid of since they seem friendly and just want guests to know they’re around. One woman saw a Civil War soldier looking out a window.
People have awakened to the scent of muffins and peanut butter and have smelled rose scented perfume. Some people have heard a baby crying when there wasn’t one at the inn. The door to the laundry room opens and closes by itself.
Guests that take photos at the inn see orbs, and when the fireplace is used as a backdrop, a fire is burning in the hearth even when the fireplace isn’t on.

It isn’t that Bates Motel, but it’s speculated that the author of Psycho, Robert Bloch, stayed in the hotel before writing the book that inspired the 1960 film. This hotel was established in 1945, having previously been a World War II soldier’s barracks.
Closed in 2015, Coeur d’Alene’s Bates Motel is still an icon for Idaho’s paranormal lovers. It is said to be haunted and still continues to draw ghost hunters, film buffs, and paranormal lovers. Rooms 1 or 3 have been rumored to have the most paranormal activity. Many guests have reported a general creepiness while staying in these rooms. They have the feeling someone is watching them, have experienced cold sensations, and have watched their belongings move across the table. Norman Bates wouldn’t even be able to handle a night here. Check it out next time you are in Idaho, and while you’re at it bring your mother!

The original name of the Rough Riders Hotel was The Metropolitan. People expected the town to grow into a large city, which never happened. The hotel was renamed in honor of Theodore Roosevelt and the Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War. Through the years the hotel has been owned by different people and undergone renovations, which usually awakens the spirits.
It’s believed that a little boy haunts one of the guest rooms at the top of the hotel. The laughter of a child is often heard in the room when no one is there. Guests have reported toilets flushing by themselves. It seems that some of the spirits enjoy playing pranks on visitors.
