The Hotel Boulderado was completed in 1908. Since that time, there have been a number of suicides in the hotel’s history. The first was in 1924 when a man administered chloroform to himself and overdosed. His wife was in the bathroom, and when she came out and saw her husband, she tried to kill herself with the leftover chloroform. There wasn’t enough left to kill her and she was taken to the hospital to recover. The rooms with the most activity are 302 and 304. One of the rooms was the site of the chloroform suicide. My daughter had her wedding there. My other daughter was arriving with another bridesmaid and said she physically saw a young girl in the hallway. She had a blank stare and was by herself. They went to the front desk and asked about it. They said “oh you saw her” They said there was a ghost in the hotel a young girl.
My mom has been at the lafayette park hotel before. She said that she heard noises and woke up many times in the middle of the night, unknowing why she kept on waking up. The whole entire hotel is pretty creepy looking. It has an old, 1700s style on the inside. The night she came back she seemed scared, if not spooked. Keep in mind, the hotel is RIGHT next to a cemetery. I mean it neighbors the hotel. So, that may play a big role in why so many people claim this hotel is haunted.
FYI
I’ve NOT had any paranormal experiences at the Lafayette Hotel nor have I stayed there. However, it is bordered by the Lafayette Cemetery on the east side of the building. Hmm.
