Haunted Hotel del Coronado On November 28, 1892, Kate Morgan was found shot in the head on the beach in front of the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California. At first ruled a suicide, there were inconsistencies which suggested foul play. The biggest discrepancy was found years later and suggests that the bullet didn’t match the gun in her hand. Is the Nob Hill Hotel haunted? Built in 1907, the Nob Hill Inn is a popular hotel and reportedly one of the most haunted places in the city. Sitting right on the corner of two popular streets, the hotel has a classic look for the outside and plenty of antiques and older items on display inside. Though some think the haunted activity relates to those furnishings and decorations, others believe the hotel might house some spirits who lost their lives during the earthquake that struck the area prior to the hotel’s opening. Tucked neatly away overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the easternmost point of Santa Catalina Island is the Banning House Lodge. The construction on this picturesque lodge is unknown, but its earliest origin is that of an actual hunting lodge from which hunters from California coast would visit. Beginning sometime in the early twentieth century the site was used a Coast Guard barracks both pre and post World War II. After the war, the property was converted into a sleep-away camp for teenage girls during the 1950s before finally being sold and converted into a scenic bed and breakfast lodge. Read more…

The Hotel Alexandria opened in 1906 in Los Angeles to much fanfare. Celebrities and regular people alike turned out for its grand opening, but as times change, the hotel lost many of its fans. Despite becoming a cultural landmark, the hotel suffered a number of problems and eventually become an extended stay hotel.
