The Old Absinthe House

The Old Absinthe House

(504) 523-3181

240 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70112, USA

The 200-Year-Old Haunted Old Absinthe House As a popular tourist destination, New Orleans enjoys one of the premier street fair spectacles in existence every February with the infamous Mardi Gras. Thousands upon thousands of people immersed in total revelry take adequate and proper use of the supremely lax public drinking laws within the city limits. Popular crafted street drinks such as the Hand Grenade, Hurricane, and Crawdad Bloody Mary make the good times even greater. One of the more hidden gem cocktails for the swarthy city streets is an Absinthe Frappe, which of course is composed largely of absinthe. Read more…

Tableau - New Orleans Haunted Bar

Tableau – New Orleans

504-934-3463

616 St Peter St, New Orleans, LA 70116, USA

Tableau by definition is a motionless figure or group of figures that are artistically depicted from belonging to a certain point or scene in human history. Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” or Vincent van Gogh’s “Self Portrait” are among some of the more fitting and popular examples of a tableau. But what if we here at FrightFind told you that there is an open kitchen bar down in New Orleans that is haunted by a smattering of ghostly entities that resemble a tableau itself? Not only does such a place exist, but even better….the place is actually named Tableau. Read more…

1905 Verot School Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508, USA

Tucked away among the other blended houses of French Creole and Cajun style architecture is T’Frere’s Bed and Breakfast Inn of Lafayette, Louisiana. Amellie Comeaux and her family built their dream home in 1880, but her happiness wouldn’t last as she lost her husband and child from yellow fever. Lovelorn forever, Amelie tossed herself down the well on the property and died. The Catholic Church wouldn’t give her a proper burial due to her committing suicide, so she was never given a Christian burial. Read more…

Saint Vincent's Haunted Guest House

St. Vincent’s Guest House

(504) 302-9606

1507 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA

In the 1860’s, the Civil War and Yellow Fever were both killing at epidemic proportions. No state in America had it worse than Louisiana, and no city had as many sick as New Orleans. As the death toll climbed, more and more children were left without family and homes. The ones that didn’t get sick themselves needed somewhere to go. Founded in 1861 by an order of nuns, the Daughter’s of Charity opened the Saint Vincent Infant Home for Orphans. It didn’t close until the 1970’s where it was home for unwed mothers and children.
