The Godfather of Zombies
George A. Romero’s name is synonymous with the zombie genre. His Living Dead series began in 1968 and continues to eat away at us today. Countless brains have been consumed on his account and his works have defined the zombie genre. He is truly “The Godfather of All Zombies.”
The Living Dead
Romero established himself when he screen wrote and directed his first feature length film, 1968’s Night of the Living Dead. Since then, he’s worked on several classics such as the original The Crazies, Creepshow 2, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, Monkey Shines, and many more.
The Living Dead series is what has made him a legend.

George A. Romero, ‘The Godfather of Zombies,’ has passed away at the age of 77 after a “brief but aggressive battle with lung cancer,” according to his longtime producer partner, Peter Grunwald. Per the LA Times, he died peacefully with his family by his side while listening to the score from one of his favorite films, “The Quiet Man.” Famous for his Living Dead series, George A.
