Situated midway between the cities of Amarillo and Odessa, the northwestern town of Lubbock, Texas is classically steeped in western culture and music. In fact, the city of Lubbock holds more music venues than any other city in the entire state of Texas. Such love for music could not be truer than for one of Lubbock’s most famous sons, the musician Buddy Holly. The ghost haunting the Flanders Hotel is so popular that staff nicknamed her Emily. Unlike other haunted attractions that have give back stories to ghosts, no one knows quite where Emily came from or even why she decided to haunt the hotel. Both guests and workers spotted her spirit in the hotel. The Flanders Hotel was one of the most prestigious and recognizable buildings in the entire city when it first opened. The Creole House – Inn on St. Ann is a thirty room hotel very close to Bourbon Street in New Orleans. It was built in the 1830s, and has a few ghostly inhabitants. The classic French quarter inn features the Creole cottage once owned by Marie Laveau, a famous voodoo priestess. There’s bound to be some scares and hauntings if you visit the Inn on St. Ann. A common occurrence is the hijinks of a ghost the staff calls Knobby. Doorknobs on the second floor are constantly removed. Read more…
