I have experienced paranormal events for the last 30 years or so. They’ve occurred mostly in my home, but I’ve also had many in hotels.
A few years ago, my husband and I stayed at the Larian Motel. We had an uneventful first night, but the following day we had several unexplained events.
While I was taking a shower, the fan came on. I didn’t think much of it at first, until it turned off. When I exited the bathroom, I asked my husband if he had turned the fan on and off and he said no. Right then, the fan came on, like it had heard me. We both scurried over to the bathroom. I flipped the switch several times, which had no effect at all. The fan remained on. My husband is an electrical engineer, with 30 years of experience. When he examined the fan, he determined that it didn’t have a timer or sensor; it was just an inexpensive, ordinary bathroom ceiling fan. I started talking about it and right then, the fan turned off as if it had heard me again. For about 20 minutes the fan was quiet. But as soon as I said, “Hey, the fan hasn’t come on for about twenty minutes now.” Immediately, the fan clicked on as if to let me know it had heard me once more. We packed our bags and went to check out. Not because of the fan, we were leaving anyway.
When I went into the office, I asked the owner if they’d had any ghostly happenings. He vehemently denied any such occurrences. He wasn’t too happy that I had brought it up. But all during the day and night before, the fan had never come on. It only started while I was taking a shower that morning. And it couldn’t have been the shower that triggered it; we had both taken showers the night before.
