Back in the 90’s our family visited South Padre/Port Isabel every summer. We normally stayed at The White Sands but one summer the plan changed and we stayed at The Southwinn. It was extremely clean and well maintained, did not get a sense of fear or that something was there haunting the hotel. Granted it is directly across a cemetery so the spookiness factor is prevalent, especially as a young child. My sister had a small doll and she swore that the doll moved on it’s own across the room. We were all taking a nap when this happened except my sister so we didn’t know what to think. As night drew my parents and I hear loud banging noises, people fighting and the TV volume adjusting throughout the night from the room next door. My dad went down to the service desk and stated the noise was keeping us up and if they could go check it out. The clerk informed my Dad that no one was staying in that room for the night. The clerk came up and the noise stopped once they went to investigate. The room was empty and tidy. We left right that morning and found elsewhere to stay.
