However, the motel has a history involving the famous Jim Morrison, lead singer of the psychedelic rock band, The Doors. It is said that the ghost of Fannie Chaffee Grant haunts the US Grant Hotel to this day. Her husband, Ulysses S. Grant, Jr. built the hotel and remarried shortly after his death. Fannie’s ghost is said to be unhappy with her husband’s remarriage so soon after her death. Keddie, a former railroad town sits under the Sierra Nevada mountains and the area has been forever marred by the gruesome crime that took place. Haunted Cabin 28 at Keddie Resort Cabin 28 was reported to have been haunted. Items move by themselves, chairs moving, writing on walls, and more.
