I stayed on April 17th while in town to attend a wedding. We closed down the hotel bar and walked back across the property to our room in the Bear Creek section around 12:30 am. While walking back across the historic outdoor amphitheater, we saw a woman dressed in 1800s clothing looking at us. She was motioning for us to ‘come here’ and then suddenly disappeared. We couldn’t believe what we saw! .. and had a very hard time getting to sleep. We slept a few hours and then drove home around 5 am. Before leaving, we went and checked out at the front desk. My husband didn’t want me to say anything to the front desk about the encounter out of fear of retaliation. I decided to mention it and they confirmed we saw ‘the maiden of the amphitheater.’. They had similar reports from the bikers who often stay there on the weekends. I was told she often appears in 1800s fashion but sometimes will be missing either the top or bottom of her outfit. When she appeared to us, she was fully clothed thankfully.

Great hotel but we got a haunted room. First walking in it was an amazing lobby, the branding iron was amazing. But when we got it our building, is when things changed. We one of us tried taking a shower it turned off for almost 10 seconds. A little after, our child called out “mom! Mom!” And with a reply of “yesss?” She knew it wasn’t her moms voice and yelled after again. At night, we turned off the television, when we woke up to a knock which could have been honestly anyone, the tv was on. In the morning I tried taking a shower and the water was cut again. So next time you go, don’t be surprised to incounter a ghost.

ok so we do NOT usually believe the reviews about hotels being haunted.. but we stayed here another time and encountered some paranormal activity. (You can read our other review) So some of our family came to visit and they are younger and wanted to see the hotel we told them about. So we took them to just go in the lobby and auditorium. So we decided RIGHT WHEN we got out of the car to film in one of our back pockets to see if we saw anything. We split up (3 to the saloon and two to explore) so while the three were at the saloon the other two went to the auditorium. When there we didn’t see anything so we went back. There’s another room that we went to inside next to their restaurant “The Branding Iron” and super weird but the smell changed to a musky dead smell… We were there for a minute checking it out and then heard CHAINS..rattling from the back of the eerie room. Then one of the ballroom doors CREAKED open just the slightest bit. (Keep in mind we were still recording from the back pocket…) we were wondering if we should go to the bathroom but then we didn’t because we didn’t want to get locked in there 😭🤣 so we went back to the auditorium and we check to see if it was still recording and it was (keep in mind the phone was at 70%) So we go back in and everyone is back and we go to the room where we heard the chains before. Then, one of us noticed that there parts of the carpet CUT OUT with little burgundy/dark red spots on the carpet liner. We immediately thought “that’s definitely blood!” It made it really interesting knowing something happened there. So we all went to the auditorium again nothing there.. when we left the place we felt a cold spot walking out in 100 degree weather. When we got in the car we went and looked back at the video. It wasn’t there! Along with all of the pictures we took. Instead of the video it’s just a grey screen. So we looked back at the other video on a different device and all of the pictures were gone but the video was there. We looked over the video and we saw I KID YOU NOT! A GORILLA. LIKE. FACE. IN THE WINDOW?! and right below was only the head and face of a MAN WITH A HAT AND BEARD! and if that’s not bad there was a face of a rodeo clown on the other side! and if you saw other reviews the hotel is known to have a rodeo clown! Anyways yea if you want a fright go here but for us..NEVER again 🤗

I stayed here a couple nights ago. (A Sunday night) I booked online while driving from Arizona to Louisiana. The price was super cheap for such a nice place, as shown in the online photos. When I arrived, there were only a couple cars that I could see. The lobby was huge and adorned with animal heads. I immediately felt an odd, dreary vibe though. The saloon was closed, as well as the restaurant. I checked in and the woman at the desk told me where to drive to get to my room. I drove around the corner to the first building on the left. There was nobody else to be seen, and it was around 9:30 pm. My room was on the 2nd story. Room 221 I believe. I felt such a strange energy from the area. The courtyard in the middle of the buildings felt dark and spooky. I went up the stairs and opened a big wooden door to a long creepy carpeted hallway. Wooden doors were on each side to the rooms. I reached the end and I still hadn’t reached my room, so I had to exit another big wooden door and enter another hallway. And these hallways are CREEPY. Like The Shining creepy. I walked down that one, and I noticed that the door to room 217 was wide open. At first I thought that maybe there were other guests staying there, but when I glanced over when walking by I could see that the room was completely empty. But the door was wide open. I kept walking a few more doors to my room. I opened the door and went in and it felt dank, and I felt a sense immediately that it was haunted. Mind you, I had NO IDEA at this point that this hotel is reported to be haunted. But the feeling was overwhelming. I was by myself and scared. I went over to the table and put my bag down and my key card down and I called my husband to have him talk me down from leaving. I was in FaceTime with him, telling him about the scary room and hall, and I wanted to show him. So I went to get the key card where I had sat it down on the table and it wasn’t there. I proceeded to look everywhere for it and I couldn’t find it anywhere. And I’m a mom of 3 kids, so I know how to look for things lol So I left the door ajar and took my husband on FaceTime to walk the hall. He agreed it was very creepy. I went back into the room and told him to look up if this was a haunted hotel, because I was too scared to look He told me it wasn’t, so I took a bath and I want to bed around 10:30. The bed was super cozy. Maybe the softest bed I’ve ever slept in. I woke up around 7am and got ready to leave. I knew I had to find the key card, so I went over to the table where my purse was and I was about to dump it out to look for the lost card, but the card was right there on the table where I knew I had left it. But it WASN’T THERE the night before. I’m sure of it. When I walked down the hall to leave, room 217 was still wide open. I told the woman upon checkout about the open door and she had a strange look on her face. It wasn’t until tonight that I looked the hotel up myself to see if it is haunted. Sure enough, I find this site. And when I asked my husband if he really looked it up, he said, “Yes, I read that it was haunted but I didn’t want you to get scared and leave. It was late and you were tired” 😳
I’m from Louisiana, and I’ve stayed in many “haunted” hotels in New Orleans and other places. They’ve got NOTHING on the feeling of this place. This place is SCARY. Like horror movie scary. If that’s the kind of thing you like, then I promise, this is your place. And I own 2 metaphysical shops, so I have experience with things of this nature. But this place was the worst I’ve ever felt. At the time when I was there, I wondered if it was on Indian Burial Grounds or something. It gives olden day horror. I read the review about someone seeing a woman in an 1800s dress and honestly, that’s the exact vibes you get from this place. I might go again with my husband. MAYBE. I’m scared lol
