The Shining 2, AKA Doctor Sleep, in Progress
The past couple of years have been incredibly kind to Stephen King fans, with 2017 bringing no fewer than three of King’s classics to film and television, and if you’re a fan of the horror King, you’ll be pleased to learn that there’s seemingly no slowing down this train of terror.
And one of the most recent King novels to get a green light for the big screen? None other than Doctor Sleep, the fan-requested 2013 sequel to The Shining that Stephen King originally dreamt up while staying at the haunted Stanley Hotel.
What is the Doctor Sleep Plot?
Doctor Sleep picks up years after The Shining’s traumatic events at the notorious Overlook Hotel, following a now adult Danny (now just Dan) Torrance. After the tragic death of his father and later mother, a down in the dumps Dan slipped into the same pattern of alcoholism and anger that had so plagued his father years before.
After hitting a hard rock bottom that resulted in an accidental death, he picks up and moves to New Hampshire looking for a new start. The newly sober, middle-aged Dan finds employment at a hospice where he finds new meaning and sobriety, as well as a renewed sense of “shining” that had previously been dulled by his alcoholic tendencies.
Is this sounding too positive to be a Stephen King novel? Then it will come as no surprise that Dan’s new life quickly takes a turn for the worse.
Torrance dubbed the titular Doctor Sleep for his ability to calmly ease his dying patients into the next realm. He soon meets a psychic young woman named Abra who shares his “shining” abilities – only to learn that they aren’t the only ones with otherworldly powers.
Dan is quickly pulled into the insanity that follows the girl, primarily, a terrifying group known as the True Knot – a group of psychics that feed off of the life energy of spiritually inclined children.
The Shining Sequel That Almost Wasn’t
King isn’t necessarily known for sequels, usually preferring to delve into new territory with each work that somehow eventually wraps its way back into his massive universe.
However, following the huge success of its predecessor, The Shining, one would think that the horror master would be ecstatic at fans insistence on a sequel. Not so. In fact, fan praise may have almost kept King from writing a sequel much earlier.
King has previously gone on record stating that he was wary of doing a sequel to The Shining, as sequels rarely make as much of an impact as their previous installment and are often fodder for harsh criticism. But after an on-the-road fan poll asking what project they’d be most interested in reading, and some kind encouragement from his wife, Tabitha – King took his fan’s suggestion and rolled with it. Thus Doctor Sleep was born.
Fan Reactions to Doctor Sleep & the Upcoming Film
Fan response to the long-awaited sequel was overwhelming, with Doctor Sleep racking up a stellar 4.1 out of 5 stars with over 125,000 ratings on goodreads.com, so maybe it was a no-brainer that we would eventually get a cinematic version. Although, without the major success of Andy Muschietti’s 2017 re-imagining of IT, it’s likely that this sequel may not have gotten off the ground quite as quickly as it did. Nevertheless, 2019 seems to be shaping up into yet another Stephen King spectacular.
And Doctor Sleep referred to by King himself as his “return to the balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on-horror” genre, could be one of the most anticipated releases we have to look forward to.
Gerald’s Game Director “fast-tracked” at Warner Bros.
Following the warm reception of Netflix and director Mike Flanagan’s “unfilmable” Gerald’s Game, several outlets pegged Flanagan as the go-to director for Doctor Sleep – and Warner Bros. took notice.
Flanagan, a huge Stephen King fan and award-winning editor/director of such films as Hush (2016), Oculus (2013), and Absentia (2011) wowed fans and critics, including King himself, with his work on Gerald’s Game, and had previously called out Doctor Sleep as a novel that he had major interest in tackling.
And now he’s getting the chance – only this go around, he’ll be bringing King’s script, reworked and adapted by Akiva Goldsman, to the big screen. A lament he had previously discussed regarding the controversial aforementioned, straight to Netflix release of Gerald’s Game.
Production is currently said to be underway, and we’ll be bringing you more details on casting (Henry Thomas for an adult Danny, anyone?) and more as they emerge.

AHS Season 8 – Theme, Cast and Theories
It’s been a couple months since American Horror Story fans received some bittersweet news about their beloved FX drama; the announcement of a pending Disney-Fox takeover and an interesting announcement from series creator Ryan Murphy regarding the setting of AHS Season 8.
Disney Takeover
Fan reactions have been varied on both of these revelations. To recap, in December Disney announced that they would be adding 21st Century Fox to their ever-growing list of acquisitions – this includes the FX networks that three of Murphy’s hit series call home, including American Horror Story.
Earlier this month, Murphy made his stance known about the merger at the Television Critics Association press tour calling his response to the news “emotional”. And while he joked about asking Bob Iger, current CEO of The Walt Disney Company, if he would have to add Mickey Mouse to his American Horror Story cast, (don’t worry, Iger has supposedly assured him he wouldn’t) fans have not been as keen on the news.
Amid the cries of monopolization of the entertainment industry, fans of more adult oriented franchises, like American Horror Story, are worried about these projects getting shelved- potentially indefinitely – once the merger goes through. And with the future of horror staples like Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise still up in the air, fans of American Horror Story may have a real reason to be wary.
AHS is Going Forward
Murphy has reiterated, however, that he isn’t planning on making any major decisions soon and that American Horror Story season 8 is still definitely in the works … and it’s taking place in the future.
That’s right. American Horror Story season 8 is officially going sci-fi.
How far in the future is still a mystery and despite this being Murphy’s first attempt at science fiction, he claims that after his season 8 pitch to FX chief John Landgraf, Landgraf “fell out of his chair with joy”, adding that while it’s different from what he’s tried before, he thinks people will enjoy it.
This is a revelation that still seems to be settling in with fans. On Twitter reactions include polls speculating on the possibility of American Horror style robots, horrific dental appliances, and demands for series favorites, Evan Peters, Connie Britton, and Lily Rabe making reappearances. Other responses lament the decision to move forward in time, with one user claiming the series may lose them completely, all the while others beg for an apocalyptic, sci-fi setting and declare the decision simply, “AWESOME!”.
Fan Theories and What we Know so Far
Despite the lack of any real, concrete information about season 8, including the lack of a title, fan speculation has thrived.
Prior to Cult, Murphy had teased that an upcoming season would be a crossover, leading some fans to theorize that season 8 might be a futuristic continuation of Murder House or Coven.
Others believe that it will be a continuation of Cult and will take place in Butte, Montana, a reference to the train ticket that Beverly Hope (Adina Porter) received in season 7.
Besides the definite futuristic and science fiction themes, there is speculation that season 8 will deal with one of the nine circles of Hell. This comes from a July 2017 post from Murphy himself, correlating previous seasons with each of the various levels, and leaving only Lust and Violence as the remaining two themes. But let’s be honest, with American Horror Story those are themes that are already to be expected.
Sarah Paulson to take a Bite out of Season 8
Also expected, Sarah Paulson will definitely be making a return…but as what exactly, is yet to be determined. Paulson is no stranger to playing unique characters in previous seasons, including a set of conjoined twins in Freak Show, but according to Murphy this season will include dental applications that have “nothing to do with anything you’ve ever seen before,” along with a promise that her appearance will be “chilling.”
The rest of the season 8 reveal thus far has been fairly vague. We know that Sarah Paulson will be returning, and the series will air sometime in 2018. The series has definitely been confirmed through 9 seasons, and with Murphy still at the helm, we’re curious what speculations you have for the upcoming season. What do you think?

Halloween 2018 Filming Has Officially Wrapped
With only 7 months to go before its October 19, 2018 release date, it looks like filming has officially wrapped on John Carpenter’s Halloween revitalization.
The official announcement came via Twitter from the VP of Feature Film Development for Blumhouse productions, Ryan Turek, with a short but sweet message to fans, “That’s a wrap!”, complete with a knife and pumpkin emoji.
This announcement came roughly two weeks after Jamie Lee Curtis announced her involvement on set was finished, much to the relief of fans who feared her limited time on set didn’t bode well for her reprisal as Laurie Strode. Following Turek’s tweet though, it appears that this is just another way that the film will remain true to the original – with both wrapping in under 30 days.
Halloween Returns to the Past
Jamie Lee Curtis was vocal about her hopes that Halloween:H20 would bring closure to her role as Laurie Strode, and originally wanted the film to end with her killing Michael once and for all. Unfortunately, her desire for closure 20 years after her debut was never fully realized, with H20 seeing the demise of a Michael imposter instead.
After her own death in Halloween: Resurrection, it appeared that Curtis was content to lay Laurie to rest once and for all. Or at least she was, that is, until she got a hold of David Gordon Green’s and Danny McBride’s script.
Could this film give Curtis the conclusion she’s been waiting for; a final one on one show down between Laurie and her 40 year rival? According to an interview Danny McBride did with Empire Film Podcast, that might be a possibility.
“I think we’re just trying to strip it down and just take it back to what was so good about the original. It was just very simple and just achieved that level of horror that wasn’t corny and it wasn’t turning Michael Myers into some supernatural being that couldn’t be killed. … I want to be scared by something that I really think could happen.”
Stand Alone or Sequel City?
So, could this Halloween revision actually stand out in the horror world we live in today? Where most films are created with an open ending in hopes of banking off of the first installment and sequels get announced on box office opening weekends?
Without getting too ahead of ourselves, Green and McBride have certainly inspired at least a little hope that, yes, their retelling could, in fact, do just that.
Time and time again, the creative duo have hinted that their aim with this film is to right some of the wrongs that came after the original – which spawned no fewer than ten remakes and four separate story arcs, including one in which Laurie and Michael were siblings. So with that goal in mind, and the current mentality that this is a one-off film for this cast and crew, perhaps this will be the resolution we’ve all been waiting for.
As fans of the series ourselves, we’re waiting with bated breath for October to finally get here, and if you’re anxious about this new re-telling, perhaps Nick Castle, the original Michael Myers can put you at ease. Speaking with Halloween Daily News, he offers this assurance,
“I can be unabashedly proud to be a part of it, and tell the fans I think they’re in pretty good hands. It’s kind of like fansare making the movie.”

‘IT’ Chapter 2 Cast Announcements
Following the major success of Andres Muschietti’s IT, there was never any doubt that we would eventually get a sequel.
The rumor mill that followed the release of the IT: Chapter 1 has thrown some shade on what we can actually expect. From a supposed post-credit scene that involved Jessica Chastain that never actually came about, to fears that director Andres Muschietti might not be returning – he is, although his signing hasn’t yet closed – it can be difficult to know how the sequel is shaping up.
Jessica Chastain confirmed to be in talks to star as Beverly Marsh in IT: Chapter 2
While there is still a lot that we don’t know, it looks like we can safely put one speculation to bed. It has been confirmed that fan favorite Jessica Chastain is in active talks to join the cast of the adult Loser’s Club, taking on the role of grown-up Beverly Marsh.
This may come as no surprise, as Chastain has been a shoo-in for the role since the original film’s release last September, appearing on multiple fan and film critic lists for their pick of Sophia Lillis’ counterpart.
After Chastain herself said that she hoped to be involved in some capacity for a sequel, it was all but set in stone.
Bill Skarsgard returns as Pennywise
Chastain’s appearance in the film sets a high bar for the rest of the cast, as the Golden Globe-nominated actress and two time Oscar nominee joins Bill Skarsgard in this highly anticipated sequel.
It: Chapter 2 is set to hit theaters in September of 2019.
Summer of ’84 is a Reality Based Stranger Things
Perhaps it is our seemingly endless variety of techie gadgets and virtual reality headsets that are driving us right back into the simpler arms of the past, but no matter the cause, it’s clear that an 80’s nostalgia train has started – and there’s no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. While it’s no secret that clothing and hairstyle trends cycle around every couple of generations, this current revival seems to be coming in the form of film. (Sorry 80’s fashionistas, looks like our acid wash jeans will remain in the closet just a little bit longer.)
2017’s blockbuster remake of IT (updated to take place in 80’s), as well as the popularity of Netflix’s Stranger Things, have reinvigorated audiences to the genre of fun, kid powered, horror flicks. And just this past week, attendees of the Sundance Film Festival got an exclusive first look at the next synth-scored, Goonies-esque thriller to hit the big screen, Summer of ’84.
Summing up Summer of ‘84
Summer of ’84 comes from the creative minds at RKSS Films, a self described “triforce” collective of writers and directors made up of Francois Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell. It is the second film for the trio, following their well received 2015 debut of Turbo Kid, an action-adventure comedy set over a decade later in 1997. But Summer of ’84 is pure 1980’s glory.
The film follows a rag tag group of four teens led by a young conspiracy theorist and tabloid fanatic, Davey (played by Graham Verchere), on the hunt for the notorious Cape May Slayer, a serial killer who has claimed the lives of 13 teenage boys near their Oregon suburb. Opening with a promise that the “craziest shit always happens in the suburbs”, viewers follow Davey and his bored band of brothers, Woody (Caleb Emery), Farraday (Cory Gruter Andrew), and Eats (Judah Lewis), as they embark on what appears to be a futile hunt for the suspected killer…who just happens to be their friendly neighborhood police officer, Mr. Mackey, played by Mad Men’s Rich Sommer .
Accompanied by a heavy, synth-pop score, courtesy of composer Le Matos, and with absolute eagle-eyed attention to wardrobe and set design, Summer of ’84 hits a lot of the right marks. Even the film’s poster, with its bold, red slasher font, and a kitschy “Missing” milk carton – complete with a spooky skull – harken back to the good ol’ days of gleeful, campy horror.
But don’t let this film’s looks fool you. With grisly undertones that culminate in a gory finale, faint of heart horror fans (or their parents) looking for a Stand By Me stand-in, may get more than they bargained for. And if early Sundance reviews are to be believed, the currently unrated film earns at least a hard PG-13 rating.
Summer of ’84 hasn’t nabbed a release date yet, but if you’re an 80’s baby looking for a romp down memory lane, be on the lookout for its theatrical release. This is one that’s sure to satisfy!

Earlier today images from the set of the upcoming 2018 Halloween re-boot made their way onto social media. The leaked photos appear to come from the set in South Carolina, and feature an incredible(…ly blurry) photo of none other than “The Shape” himself, Michael Myers!

Last month we announced that Nick Castle, the actor who portrayed the original “Shape”, will be teaming back up with Jamie Lee Curtis for what is the official sequel to the Halloween series, ignoring all other reboots and continuations. David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are writer/director duo and John Carpenter himself is back to produce and offer his official stamp of approval!
Despite a few production delays, the film is still expected to drop on October 19, 2018. And now that it appears filming is in full swing, keep checking back here for updates!

Mark Cassell lives on the south coast of England with his wife and a number of animals. He often dreams of dystopian futures, peculiar creatures, and flitting shadows. His jobs have included a baker, a laboratory technician, and a driving instructor, and 2018 sees him acting in the horror movie Monster directed by Matt Shaw.
As a familiar face on the UK convention scene, Mark sells his books as well as his photographic art, and doesn’t charge for selfies. The busy man that he is, he also hosts writing retreats for Writers’ HQ.
Primarily a horror author, his steampunk, dark fantasy, and sci-fi stories have featured in numerous reputable anthologies and zines. The dystopian cyberpunk collection Chaos Halo 1.0: Alpha Beta Gamma Kill is in association with Future Chronicles Photography where he works closely with their models and cosplayers. He’s often alongside these guys at conventions all around the UK, and one of their shoots inspired the creation of his new Lovecraftian steampunk horror universe that begins with the novelette In the Company of False Gods available on Amazon.

Jonathan Broughton writes fantasy, horror, paranormal and urban stories. Any story in any genre in fact, depending on the idea or the plot that pops into his head.
For many years he lived in Hastings on the south coast of England and all of the stories in this anthology were written when he was by the sea.
As well as the short stories he has also written three novels. A thriller set in Victorian London at the outbreak of the Crimean War, a modern-day crime investigation that takes place in Hastings and a fantasy, also set in the East Sussex area, In the Grip of Old Winter.
In the fantasy, eleven-year-old Peter travels back in time to ten-sixty-six just after the Battle of Hastings. Intrigue and confusion blossom as the local population adjusts to life under the guidelines laid down by their newly victorious conquerors. And in the woods and the hidden places, old magic reawakens. It is hard for Peter to know who he can trust in this strange time and the decisions he has to make then impact on events in the past and in the present.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 – What We Know
Fans of Stranger Things may still be reeling from season 2, but that hasn’t stopped executive producer Shawn Levy from offering up the details on the upcoming Stranger Things Season 3.
When is Stranger Things Season 3 release date?
An official release date isn’t on the table yet, but Netflix has confirmed there will be a third season. Due to the previous timing of the first two seasons, it’s quite possible that we won’t see Stranger Things Season 3 until 2019. But that may be good news. According to an interview last month with David Harbour (Chief Hopper), series creators Matt and Ross Duffer are working 12-14 hours per day to bring the next season to life, and thus far the seasons have proven to be worth the wait.
Stranger Things 3 Plot Details
For starters, it looks like Will is finally going to get some rest. Levy assures that while Will will still be involved in the show, and “dealing with stuff,” he’ll no longer be at “rock bottom.” “We’re going to give Will a break. We’re not going to put (him) through hell for the third season in a row.” Levy assures.
Season two also produced some unexpected relationships between several of the characters, and season 3 aims to shed more light on these bonds, specifically the relationship between Steve and Dustin. Levy claims that the creators hope to give them a stronger, more familial connection in season three, stating, “I want them to have a connection like they’ve really had a connection for a year like they’re brothers.”
The Duffer Brothers have also insinuated that we will see more growth between Lucas (played by Caleb McLaughlin) and Max’s (Sadie Sink) relationships and have stated that the third season will deal with puberty and relationships that kids develop as they’re growing up.
As far as the series villains, there are several avenues that are being theorized. Without confirming the return of the Mind Flayer, The Duffer Brothers have not quite ruled it out. Insisting that though they’ve “shut the door on” it, it’s still there, and it’s very much aware of the kids, and in particular Eleven.
As if that weren’t enough for Eleven to deal with, some theories speculate that Papa, Eleven’s dominating father, may make a reappearance in the third installment.
But don’t make the mistake of believing that it will necessarily get darker as the series progresses. In an interview with Indiewire, Matt Duffer made the statement that this season is more about the journey of the characters. “It’s not necessarily going to be bigger in scale.” “What I’m really excited about is giving these characters an interesting journey to go on.”
Stranger Things May Be Going In A Different Direction
The Duffer Brothers have also confirmed that this season is more fluid as far as the writing and production, with no strict boundaries for the number of episodes, even claiming this season may be shorter than the previous two, with only eight or nine episodes expected.
While Stranger Things 3 hasn’t yet begun filming, actor David Harbour has claimed that it will likely begin in March or April, and just this past month, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) promised eager fans on Twitter that he would keep them posted as progress develops.

“Summer of ’84” Interview with Cory Grüter-Andrew
Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight Section is Summer of ’84, a horror film, set in everyone’s favorite decade. Summer of ’84 pits four 15-year old friends against a neighborhood serial killer. FrightFind was lucky to get an interview with Cory Grüter-Andrew who plays one of the teen investigators in Summer of ’84.
FF: Corey Nice to meet you. Thanks for taking the time today to talk about Summer of ’84. Tell us a bit about yourself and where you’re from.
Cory: I was born and raised in Vancouver B.C. I’m currently here in Toronto filming a TV series and I’ve been acting for about three years now. I’ve had some good luck in my career so far. I’ve been on things like Fargo and The 100 and Van Helsing which just came out on Netflix.
FF: We talked to Wyatt Oleff who was in the IT remake a few months ago and it was his first foray into horror. You’re a little bit different. You seem to have a little sci-fi and drama background with The 100 and Van Helsing. Are you a horror fan or is that something you were looking to get into?
Cory: I am a horror fan actually. I’m a fan of thriller movies and horror movies. You know, things like Final Destination and all that, but yeah, I’m really interested in doing dramas and things like that. Comedies are fun too don’t get me wrong, but my preferred genre is definitely drama.
FF: Tell us about the Summer of ’84. What do our horror fans need to know about the upcoming film?
Cory: Summer of ’84... It’s going to be a great film. I’ve seen a lot of the scenes and clips from the movie and I think everyone’s going to really enjoy it. The Summer of ’84 is pretty explanatory by the title. These four boys all live in a neighborhood cul-de-sac. They each have a suspicion that their neighbor, Wayne Mackey, who is also a police officer, might be a serial killer. This prompts an investigation from the four boys into his private life and they start to dig in. The film really has a Stand By Me or maybe a Goonies feel.
FF: For me, this film is exciting. With the recent success of IT and Stranger Things with that nostalgic 80s theme. Seems like this has a similar feel. Is that safe to say?
Cory: Yeah. I’d say so. You know Stranger Things is set in the 80s as well. However, Summer of ’84 deals with more real-life events. There’s nothing like the “Upside Down” or anything like that. They’re dealing with a real serial killer. I think it’s a bit more grounded in reality whereas Stranger Things is definitely more sci-fi horror.
FF: I totally agree. So you’re a group of kids. Do you have a nickname like the Losers Club or anything like that?
Cory: [Laughs] Right now, we don’t but we should definitely think of one. For the sequel right?
FF: So your character is Curtis Farraday. Tell us about Curtis and what he’s like. How does he add to the investigation?
Cory: So Curtis Farraday… he’s the “nerdy one” of the group. Most people I think will see him as the nerdy one. He was raised by scholars. He’s much more academically inclined than the other kids. And basically, the polar opposite of the character who is played by Juda Louis. The four boys really work as a collaborative team. But I think Curtis is a little more skeptical about the whole thing.
FF: So you have a group of 4 boys teamed up to stop a serial killer. How do you guys interact? What’s the dynamic of the group?

Cory: Oh we’re all really good friends. We love to hang out. We get along really well. We hung out on the weekends when we could and we all just got along really well. I think that’s going to show on screen.
FF: Will you be at Sundance for the show?
Cory: So I’m heading out to Sundance tomorrow morning. But I won’t be able to make the premiere sadly cause I have work that day. I’ll definitely be able to reunite with the guys though.
FF: What’s the scuttlebutt around the film so far? How do you feel it’s being received? Any criticism?
Cory: I think people are receiving it nicely. I think people are really going to enjoy it. You know people who lived in the 80s are going to get a really nostalgic feel from the film. I think the majority of people are going to enjoy it.
FF: So let me ask a couple kind of goofball questions. Do you think that Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger Things) copied your haircut from Legends of Tomorrow?

Cory: [LAUGHS]. I don’t know. We both do rock a pretty good buzz cut.
FF: If you guys were in a fight: The Losers’ Club, Strangers Things kids, or the Summer of ’84 gang, who’s going to win?
Cory: Oooh. That’s tough. I mean, we do have Woody, he’s the big guy. What do you mean by fight? [laughs]
FF: You know, a full-on brawl. Maybe a cage match!
Cory: Woody. He’s the big dude of the group. He would definitely be a big help. But yeah… I don’t know. It’s tough to say. I mean, who knows maybe Mike from Stranger Things knows karate or something.
FF: We asked Wyatt from IT the same question. He felt the Losers’ Club had the advantage because they had that stun gun. I will relay that Woody might be able to “take them out” back to Wyatt. [Laughs]
FF: Kids’ group stories set in the 80s timeline have been quite successful recently. Summer of ’84 seems to be a bit edgier with less sci-fi. When you look at those other films do you draw comparisons yourself? Any thoughts on similarities and how they compare?
Cory: I mean they’re all set in the 80s, but I don’t like to compare things you know? To each its own. You know they are all set in the 80s but they have a distinctly different vibe to them.
FF: Tell me a little bit more about yourself. What’s next for you, Corey? You’re working now. What’s the next film on your slate?
Cory: Yeah, I relocated to Toronto temporarily. And I’m shooting Anne with an E, which is a CBC Netflix show. I’m in season 2 and it’s going to premiere sometime in 2018.
FF: Are you thinking about more horror or science fiction horror?
Cory: I’d love to get into that. Yeah. It’s really fun genre. It’s fun to do. And you know, if there is a job there I’d happily take it.
FF: Last question, another silly question. But what are you going to be for Halloween and what is your favorite Halloween candy?
Cory: Ooh my favorite Halloween candy. Probably those mini-Snickers bars. And you know… I’ll probably just chuck a sheet over my head and be a ghost.

Black Mirror Season 4 Is Here!
While we were all getting comfy and warm in bed last night, Black Mirror released their chilling and much anticipated 4th season to Netflix!
All 6 episodes are currently on Netflix just begging for a binge watch over the extended holiday weekend.
Despite it only being hours old, reviews are already coming in and it looks like this season is everything we’ve hoped for.
Season 4 covers an extensive range of relatable topics including parenting, online dating, sex, technology and even space exploration in the episode USS Callister. This season even features the series first black and white episode, Metalhead.
Netflix also released a holiday montage video wishing audiences a Happy New Year while expertly blending real-life clips of current political and pop culture figures with scenes from the show, giving viewers an eerie sense of foreboding.
Charlie Brooker, the series writer and creator, continues to push audiences to question everything they once thought of as safe and, well, even real. And we’re totally okay with that.
