Located in the foggy woods of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, Northern State Hospital was once the largest mental institution in the state, besides the Old Western State Hospital. The hospital opened in 1909 and was designed by the renowned Olmsted Brothers, the same architects who brought us New York’s Central Park. Stayed here for three nights in 2025 and loved it. Used the shared bath down the hall. Not sure if haunted, because traveling single I don’t want to get too in touch with that, but it has a lot of atmosphere, as the whole town does. I will definitely go back.
Stopped in late one eve to check if had a room two beds- I am aware n quite perceptive to energies. As I entered was greeted quite quickly by front of house staff n a white entity with flowing dress curiously staring at me on stairs near lobby. Yes I’d say spend a night if your looking for a active ghost hunt but sleep nope not here – not for me … sorry not sorry left as soon as I came in.
