The most well known of the ghosts at the Omni Homestead Resort is a bride from the early 20th-century who took her life when her fiance disappeared on their wedding day.
She is seen walking through the hallways on the 14th floor stopping guests to ask them what time it is. Apparently, she’s hoping that her fiance will return to the hotel, and she’ll finally have her happy ending.
If you stay at the resort, you may just encounter this sad spirit.

Haunted Marriott Courtyard Norwood Several guests have reported seeing the ghostly figure of a very tall man appear out of nowhere in their room at night. The ghostly figure looms over you at nearly 7 feet tall and is said to be the ghost of an athlete who hung himself in one of the hotel rooms on the first floor.  Noises and banging happen with no explanation. In 2022 I was working during the restoration of the Omni homestead resort, as a sprinkler fitter for a company called VSC.
One day while working in the basement of the massive structure, it was lunch time, I was walking to lunch with my coworker when I realized I forgot something in the room we were working in, I walked back to the room down a lengthy 100-200 foot long straight hallway passed the kitchen grabbed my belonging and headed back to the cafeteria, there wasn’t a single person in this hallway at the time everyone was on lunch, as a USMC Veteran I walk fast with a purpose everywhere I go, while walking down this corridor I heard heavy foot steps behind me, and they were gaining on me witch I found strange, I kept waking until the footsteps were immediately behind me, I turned around aggressively expecting to see another man in my personal space, there was absolutely nothing there, don’t forget I said heavy footsteps not quaint. I carried on no thinking anything of it.
The second part of this encounter gets eerie, while we were flipping this hotel they took all of the hundreds of old 100+ year old photos off the wall and placed them up in the click tower, I had the poor idea to take one of these photos from 1887 as a souvenir, thinking they would never miss it, I took it back to my apartment in Roanoke Virginia and put it on my wall, the following 20 days after that I experienced the worst nightmares and daily sleep paralysis, seeing dark shadow figures in my apartment, also during this time on Christmas Eve 2022 I almost shot myself in the head crying hysterically with a firearm placed to the roof of my mouth, I few days later on New Year’s Eve I totaled a brand new Cadillac I’d just purchased in a strange one vehicle accident. Something told me it was this photo of a white man from 1887 on a horse in a black man’s home that was causing this, I immediately grabbed the photo took it outside and threw it in the garbage, everything stopped, no more sleep paralysis, no more shadow figures in my home, the heavy depression was lifted.
I have no reason to lie, this place is haunted and some awful shit has happened there, the paranormal is real, it’s not a joke, don’t play around in these places looking for things you do not want to find.
