At the resort, the ghost is thought to be one upset governess for the former owner. Mrs. Beanning’s ashes were in an urn on the mantle for years. The new owners thought she’d be better off in the family crypt. Since then, the spirit has shown her displeasure. She turns lights off and on, plays with the blenders as well as fans in the resort. The location of the film wasn’t a fluke. The castle has been the home to many ghost sightings, hauntings, floating orbs and mysterious happenings. Chester Thorne built the castle for his bride, Anna. For years, the bed and breakfast was haunted by solid apparitions as well as voices. The house was built on a location that used to house an entire Native American tribe that died when the settlers came to America. Some people think that the Halloween party that year woke some spirits from their sleep. Ever since that year, there’s been shadowy sightings of spirits on the 15th floor of the hotel.
