It’s thought that the wife of a former owner haunts the Rosario Resort. She’s been spotted on the third floor in a red dress. She also has been seen driving a motorcycle in the hotel. One guest to the resort said that she was taking a small tour upstairs and found herself in an empty room but felt like she was being watched. She was overwhelmed with the urge to leave quickly. This hotel has a few hauntings according to both guests and staff. In one of the rooms closest to the main desk, a guest committed suicide. The housekeepers don’t like to clean that room. A woman and her two children are often seen in the hallways. They’ve caused mischief in many of the guest’s rooms. The lodge has been around since it was built in the 1926. At some unreported time in the past, there was a fire in the main lodge and a worker couldn’t escape from the fire. She died. It’s her ghost who is thought to haunt the lodge now. One guest reported to the store owner across the street that she was leaving the lodge because of an experience she had. After unpacking her bags, she found a woman standing behind her. The woman explained that her name was Beverly, and she worked in the hotel. Read more…

The Haunted Tokeland Hotel Just off the oyster-consumed Willapa Bay stands the large and luxurious Tokeland Hotel. The estate was built by Elizabeth and William Kindred in 1885 and was opened as The Kindred Inn in 1889, making it the oldest resort in Washington state. The inn is settled close to the Pacific Ocean, making it quite cozy and relaxing for a guest to stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Captain Tibbals built the hotel as a tavern and billiard parlor in 1889. People have reported seeing the captain haunting the halls today. There’s also a woman in a blue dress who is often seen at the top of the stairs to the second floor. She spends a lot of time haunting room four, which seems to be her favorite. Old Haunted Western State Hospital Old Western State Mental Hospital is one of the eeriest places in all of Washington State. It was originally Fort Steilacoom Asylum in 1871, but the building dates back to 1849 when it was part of the Fort Steilacoom Army post. The history of the hospital tells stories of frontal lobotomies, mental wards that were secretly open for prostitution by the orderlies and brutal attacks on patients. The grounds are creepy indeed and many paranormal groups will ghost hunt at night after the park closes. Be careful and watch your step. Read more…
