Haunted Captain Faifield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine Overlooking the banks of the Green River in Kennebunkport is the Captain Fairfield Inn. Captain James Fairfield and his wife lived in the house for five years until James died of pneumonia. The mansion was a private home until 1991. When renovations started, an apparition identified as Captain Fairfield was seen floating in an area of the basement. Some guests at this cozy motel in Baggs, WY, report experiencing a spooky awakening early in the morning. Reportedly, a glowing white apparition appears briefly to stir guests from their slumber in the wee hours of the new day. The motel itself is fairly isolated, which sparks instant visions of Norman Bates – even without knowing of the alleged haunted history of the place.
