Bird and Bottle Inn

The Widow Jane Mine is a 145-year-old cement mine that has been said to feature the ghost of a young woman walking between the stone pillars of this cavernous man-made mine. The ghost is presumed to be that of Jane, a young widow who walks the mine in her long white dress. The mine is a great place to visit to witness an amazing feat in US history as some of it’s cement provided the foundation for the Statue of Liberty and New York’s Brooklyn Bridge. Read more…

Stull Cemetery lies in the most unincorporated area of Douglas County, Kansas. This bleak, and semi-isolated cemetery appears on the surface to be nothing more than a rural and eternal resting place for northeastern Kansas folk. However, what is it about this cemetery that was rumored to cause His Holiness Pope John Paul II to actually give Vatican pilots instructions to fly around it when he visited the United States in 1993? While the spirits associated with this inn seem to keep themselves in two of the guest rooms, one guest felt like they were too much. The guest felt a tap on his head when standing by the closet. The entire time that this guest stayed in the room there was a presence felt. After spending a few sleepless hours, the guests checked out of the room in the middle of the night. There haven’t been any reports of angry spirits at the inn. Reportedly, they are friendly spirits. Read more…
