Ocean City Screams Haunted House in Ocean City, Maryland

Over 50 years ago, by what most remember as the perfect storm, an old rusted toxic cargo ship went missing and the entire crew of the S.S. Steelhead was lost…until now. Reports are being received of a ship being seen listing heavily to one side, barely visible to the naked eye through the morning fog and salvage crews are now towing it to shore. A new breed of fear washes up on the sands of Ocean City, Maryland at the two-story Ocean City Screams Haunted House – the area’s biggest, most intense, state-of-the-art haunted house ever built in Ocean City. Ocean City Screams is located at 14 Worcester St and was designed and built by the creators of Field of Screams, Maryland and Scream City in Washington DC.

Love everything to do with Halloween and for many years have been saddened that the Eastern Shore of Maryland lacked anything truly scary. We had ride through haunted houses but they were too outdated, short and just not scary. Was thrilled to learn someone at last was opening up a place with all the key components of a screaming time: Dark rooms filled with loud noises, live actors and brand new animatronics. Now it is probably short for many true fear mongers but it does great use of an existing building just of the very busy Ocean City Maryland Boardwalk. All of these key elements mean that no two walk throughs will ever be the same which I love. Can hardly wait to learn what they have in store for the upcoming Halloween season. Great Job and Good luck.

Went there once, had fun with friends but we were all wasted but still fun. Some areas seemed really dark, we couldn’t really tell what was ahead of us. Now I believe they closed though, which is sad because during the summer was very busy.

When the ship is docked, all scenes are viewable from the street.  Scenes begin going up October 1st with substantial completion by mid October.  Then, new scenes are developed and new pieces are introduced daily.  Instead of a traditional haunted house and tours, our display is open to the public all the time.  Visitors are always welcome to view the scenes any time of day or evening from the street or the warmth of their car, as all scenes are electrified and lit at night.  If you see any of the build staff outside, feel free to say hello. We love meeting the community! They may even offer you a guided tour of the porch!

Each October the Halloween house on the corner of Spanish Bay transforms into the Grand Ship Ferdinand, a real life pirate ship complete with pirates, interactive scenes,… Read more…
