Want to stay at an inn that George Washington visited? George’s name has been found on a ledger from a nearby tavern. It is likely that he was a guest at the inn. Reportedly built in the 1780’s, it is one of the oldest houses in the country. It is said to have also housed John Quincy Adams, years later. It is known as the house with the candles. One story describes a mother who lit a candle as her son headed off to fight in the civil war. She promised to keep it lit until he returned. Read more…

This hotel has a history many people don’t know about. This is from my experience there around 16 or 17 years ago. Me , my brother and 2 of our friends stayed there while we worked on the hotel for over a month. We all had experiences there with paranormal activity! I could sense a presence behind me Everytime I walked up the stairs to our room. I could here whispering plain as day in my room . Off course I pretended not to notice and kept my eyes closed lol. And especially in the back courtyard was Erie. We started talking to the managers son and found out it was used as a mental institution back in the day when it caught on fire and burned down , at least a big portion. As we found that out it confirmed the presences I heard many times following me. Up. The stairs were not my imagination! Honest to God this is my true experience
