Is Shaker’s Cigar Bar Haunted?

The self-proclaimed “Milwaukee Haunted Bar” is teaming with ghosts and history for those interested enough to go looking. The ghost of a young woman named Elizabeth has been heard wailing in the bathroom while a former brothel worker named Molly, who was brutally murdered upstairs, can be seen waltzing through the penthouse at all hours of the night. The owner is always willing to give tours of Shaker’s haunted floors to those who ask.

Built in 1906, this quaint little hotel was once named the New California Hotel. It was built right after a fire destroyed most of San Fransisco. At one time, it was said to have been a brothel. The main building that houses the Fort Conde Inn was built in 1836. Settlers built a fort there in 1711, and this historic area has been known to have hauntings throughout the entire city. It doesn’t have specific ghost encounters that guests have reported, but workers have reported encounters. The guests report a sense that they feel like they are not alone. There have been disembodied voices reported when no one is around too. The Fort Conde Inn features a two-floor main house where guests seem to have more experiences on the second floor, but the inn has cottages too. Read more…
