In Whitehill, New Hampshire, ghost hunters have heard tales of the Spalding Inn. This inn has always been one of the places that thrill seekers would run to to get the pants scared off of them. It was owned by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson from the television show Ghost Hunters.

This inn was formerly known as the Cherry Hill House and was built in the 1860s. There have been reports of paranormal events occurring here for years. There are stories that one of the former owners committed suicide in the carriage house. A woman and a child were said to have died here as well. Those who have stayed here have seen shadow figures and apparitions in the upstairs carriage house windows. Some doors will open and close on their own. One of the most terrifying things that guests have seen, though, is a huge black mass that likes to show itself in the bar and kitchen.

The Spalding Inn has been visited by many paranormal investigators who have heard the haunting tales of the inn. Jason Hawes’ wife claimed that when she was in the house with her son, they saw ghostly figures watching them in the windows. Let’s take a deeper look at the evidence found by paranormal investigators.

The Haunts of the Spalding Inn

When paranormal investigators came to the Spalding Inn, they were ready for anything. On the first floor, where most guests would sleep, they saw a weird, hunched figure. This figure walked slowly across the floor, and the investigators found it eerie, to say the least. This was not the only spooky thing that they found, though. They stated that every room in the inn has a very strange energy.

The upstairs rooms are pretty active, too. Rooms 15, 16, and 17 are hotbeds of paranormal activity, with heavy male energy in Room 16. The woman in Room 17 shows up as a vague shadow, and she is wearing pearls. It turns out that she was the former owner of the Spalding Inn, and she always wore pearls. These aren’t the only rooms that have heavy paranormal energy in them.

Room 33 is another room where guests have felt some eerie events. Many of these guests said that they were woken up by some paranormal activity in the room. However, when paranormal investigators spent time in this room, they felt as if it was one of the quietest rooms in the inn.

Is the Spalding Inn Still Open Today?

This hotel was owned by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of Ghost Hunters fame. They bought and sold it rather quickly. They did at least one entire episode on the haunted hotel: season 5 episode 7 Crossing Over. They brought the Ghost Hunters International team in to do the investigation.

They also did Season 8 Episode 12 called “Sign the Ghostbook” at the hotel which was Grant Wilson’s last investigation when he quit Ghost Hunters.
