Maybe the haunting of Mobile, Alabama’s Kate Shepard House is just a rumor. The home was originally built in 1897 by railroad man Charles Shepard from plans by renowned architect George Barber. A few years later, in 1910, Charles’s daughters, Kate and Isabel, turned the house into a boarding school for the children of prominent community members. My Mom worked here night audit (11 pm-7 am) she had numerous things happen in her tenure. A little boy was said to drown in the outside pool, and at night you can hear tapping on the glass (pool is in the courtyard). Doors will fly open, pots and pans in the kitchen will clang around and fall on the floor. It’s a very large hotel unsure of specific rooms for haunts.
