The Haunted Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, West Virginia

Old-world charm and a ghostly presence are what guests experience at the Blennerhassett. One of the spirits is that of William Chancellor, the former mayor.

The mayor’s portrait was taken down when the hotel was being renovated, and he expressed his displeasure by dropping in unexpectedly on guests. When the restoration was complete, the visits stopped.

Other manifestations include books flying off the shelves in the library and the sounds of children playing and laughing.
