The Haunted Driskill Hotel in Austin, TX The Driskill Hotel was built by Jesse Driskill and opened in 1886. The plan was to create the most luxurious hotel in all of Texas. That plan was succesful as the hotel played host to governor’s inaugurations as an annual tradition. Word is that Jesse Driskill lost the hotel in a poker game to his brother-in-law Jim Day. The details have never been fully revealed. Thus began some of the hardships of the Driskill Hotel and the beginning of its haunted legacy. Read more…

The building is said to be haunted by the ghost of an African American man who has been seen by many visitors. The building has a ton of history and has remained intact throughout the years. The building originally housed The Kennedy Bakery, served as a Pony Express station and was passed down by 5 generations of the Kennedy family before the current owners, The Wenglars purchased it.
