From the twisted mind that brought us Barbarian, Zach Cregger is back with Weapons, a horror mystery that will leave you shaken long after the credits roll. It promises to be bigger, stranger, and downright scarier than anything he has done before.
The Plot of Weapons: A Nightmare at 2:17 AM
Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night to find the entire town’s children missing, minus one lucky youngster? At exactly 2:17 AM, an entire class of children just disappears into the night. But what evil force could have taken them? Why was only one child spared? The deeper the town investigates, the deeper the mystery becomes.
Cregger describes Weapons as “fun, scary, and inviting” but also “really messed up“, so you take that as you will. If Barbarian taught us anything, it’s that “fun” probably means agonizing dread, so we got that going for us.
Weapons Cast
Weapons delivers an all-star cast, for sure to bring us an unforgettable horror experience:
- Josh Brolin (Dune: Part Two, Goonies) as Archer Graff, a father searching for his missing child.
- Julia Garner (Ozark, Wolf Man, The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as Justine Gandy, a teacher whose class seems to have gone a missing.
- Alden Ehrenreich (Cocaine Bear, Fair Play) as Paul, a police officer caught in the chaos.
- Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan round out the cast, ensuring plenty of terrifying performances.
