Real Haunts in Washington

This inn is located next to the Mt. Rainier National Park. It’s believed that most of the hauntings in the inn are people who have died trying to climb the mountain. Guests have reported furniture being moved and footsteps in the hallways when there was nobody there. Many have reported movement in empty rooms. There’s been reports of people feeling like they’re being watched too. The wind is said to vibrate through the windows, which makes it sound like voices. It makes the location even spookier. This bed and breakfast is considered one of the most haunted locations in Washington. It’s been featured in a documentary called Montgomery House: The Perfect Haunting. For years, the bed and breakfast was haunted by solid apparitions as well as voices. The house was built on a location that used to house an entire Native American tribe that died when the settlers came to America. The Haunted Tokeland Hotel Just off the oyster-consumed Willapa Bay stands the large and luxurious Tokeland Hotel. The estate was built by Elizabeth and William Kindred in 1885 and was opened as The Kindred Inn in 1889, making it the oldest resort in Washington state. The inn is settled close to the Pacific Ocean, making it quite cozy and relaxing for a guest to stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The Haunted Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Wa In 1920, a young woman named Ellen McNamara fell through a skylight and plunged to her death. She’s often seen peering over the railing towards the mezzanine below. There are other ghostly happenings that can’t be pinned to one ghost. A hotel worker reported that he saw a heavy, glass-and-metal terrace door fly open on a night that wasn’t windy. He didn’t return to that area for a week. The hotel was built in 1886 by John McMillin and has had many guests including some famous ones like Theodore Roosevelt. It’s a woman apparition who is seen wandering the halls of the hotel. A nearby location is said to be equally creepy. The McMillin family has a mausoleum where there is a dining room set up for the entire family. Built in 1901 by Isadore St. Martin, the Carson Hot Springs Resort has many ghosts said to be walking within its walls. Isadore was killed on the grounds in 1910. He was arguing with a man on the grounds and was accidentally stabbed in the chest. St. Martin’s wife died shortly after him. Her ghost is the most active, visible ghost on the grounds. The castle was built in 1892 and went from being a family home to a location for nuns then Jesuits. In 1968, it was turned into a hotel, and guests have reported many strange and unusual occurrences. Most happenings are reported in rooms 302, 304 and 306. The ghosts are thought to be a monk who hung himself and a young girl waiting for her love to come back from the war. Along with an inn that hasn’t changed much in over 100 years, there are cabins where guests have frequently heard things that can’t be explained. There’s been the faint sound of girls laughing where there were no little girls. There’s a female apparition said to be roaming the halls of the inn. Until 1998, this hotel was like any other. Around Halloween night that year, it’s said that a businessman killed himself on the 15th floor. Some people think that the Halloween party that year woke some spirits from their sleep. Ever since that year, there’s been shadowy sightings of spirits on the 15th floor of the hotel.
